On board menu screen is very small. I used the online software to initialize it because my MAC does not have a disc drive. The online system was clumsy, but it worked fine. You could also use a USB 2.0 printer cable, if you have one. It works (prints) very well with all my Apple products iPhone, iMac, MacBook, and iPad via AirPrint It prints very fast compared to inkjet. Not the best gray scale, but a great printer for the price (ninety in BB store).

Loving this printer. It prints fast and it was a breeze to setup. I love printing right from my iPad with AirPrint.

I really like this printer; fast, a little loud, good price, small and compact. However, it struggles with printing thicker paper. Particularly double-sided printing on thicker paper. I'm printing on 65# cardstock and most of the time when it sucks the paper back in to print the other side, it jams. I bought the printer so that I didn't have to go to Office Depot anymore and it's frustrating that now not only do I have to go, but literally to print one thing! I can print everything else at home. If you plan mainly to print in B+W on standard printer paper, this printer is great! If you will be printing on a wider variety of paper weights and types, you may want to look elsewhere. Also, I agree with some other folks on wireless setup. I'm a tech-savvy enough person to handle it, but for someone with less knowledge it may be a challenge.

i just bought this unit today coz' my 2y/o HP photosmart 6520 just quit printing black. I don't wanna deal w/ some more headache w/ HP customer service and end up still buying a new unit,so i just took the plunge and bought this bad boy right here. I hope it'll last over 3years to date. A bit noisy on my taste,but fast printing was the deal breaker.

Overall, this is a great buy, and I got it on sale. Loading the ink cartridge was a breeze. First use, I've printed 170 pages at one time. No paper jams, and prints as fast as the monstrous copy machine at work. Ink quality is good - although, I'm not a connoisseur on that topic so to each his own. I wouldn't recommend using this if you're a heavy duty printer. The printer did get a bit overheated after printing 170 pages. The fan was working overtime, had to turn on my room fan to help cool it down lol. The setup was challenging, partially my fault - I was selecting the wrong product number. Once, I got over that hurdle, a lot of my time was spent trying to figure out how to set up the wireless feature. Unfortunately, the product does not include a USB cord - DON'T BUY ONE YOU DON'T NEED IT. I also got some help with YouTube as well, but in the end I ended up connecting the WiFi directly from the printer. It was a bit daunting, but much easier than trying to connect from your PC.

Black and white printer that works perfectly six years later!!

Prints cheap compared to my HP inkjet sitting next to it in my house. I'm looking forward to saving a lot of money printing in black and white with this printer. It works great and the wireless works great as well.v

I know this isn't the fanciest printer, but it's the most efficient. I have gone through soo many printers in the last few years, and I've been through so many cases of toner, but this BY FAR is the best printer. It does it's job, and I'm not spending more than half of my time ordering toner and clearing up paper jams. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I needed to update my laser printer because I got a new laptop with Win10 and the other printer was no longer compatible. I am not an IT Professional. I'm not computer illiterate, but i only know how to use applications. i don't know all the technical stuff like setting up peripherals and ports and LAN, etc. I wanted this printer, but was very hesitant to make the purchase after reading some reviews. The sales tech at Best Buy suggested I watch a video on You Tube to help me out, which I did, but the video didn't go into setting up Wi-fi. So I pulled out the setup guide and took a deep breath (because I really don't have patience for technical stuff) and read through the instructions. I had no problems at all setting up the printer. Let me say this...my son had already set up my one printer using Wi-fi so maybe that made it easier for the other one to connect. You can only set up using either Wi-fi or USB connection. You need to have a USB cable to help install during setup. I just followed the Start Guide and had no problems. The printer was on sale along with the toner cartridge. It is loud when printing compared to my HP 1006 I had. But overall, I'm a happy camper!!

This is a great personal desk printer for work to print invoices or reports - since purchased only had to replace the toner once after the starter toner was used up. A bit loud but other than that it does it's purpose.

This Brother printer is a great black and white laser for the price. We use many of these throughout our building, they hold up well and don't go through toner very fast.

Once I was able to set it up wirelessly, I could print from a few rooms away. It works well, quickly, and the toner lasts a long time.

I figured out how to print wirelessly from my laptop/PC despite the lack of instructions. It is actually pretty easy, but I happen to have USB printer cable from my old Brother printer, which really helped setting wireless network connection with PC/laptop. You shouldn't have any problem printing wirelessly from your mobile device just by following the included instructions. This is for laptop/PC wireless printing instruction: Connect the USB Brother printer cable (this is not included in the package, I used my old cable) between the printer port and the laptop/PC USB port. Go to http://solutions.brother.com/windows and follow on-screen instructions until "Connection Type" screen appears. Then choose "Wireless Network Connection" (3rd box on Connection Type) and next page choose "Yes, I have a USB cable to use for installation". And you will be able to find the printer and finish installation. After all these set ups, I am pretty happy with wireless connections! This is my second Brother Laser printer after I had the first one for like 8 or 9 years. i am happy to have wireless functionality in this one!!

Got it on sale great buy works real good right out of the box. Love it. I would recommend it to all my friends

Bought this tough little workhorse for my mother for Christmas. She's really happy with it. Fast, double sided printing, and wireless. Works on her Windows 7 PC as well as her MacBook Pro with Yosemite. The only drawback is there is no physical USB port. Other than that, great printer!

Needed a basic black and white printer and this truly helped. Was easy to install and has great basic features

Love this printer. Super easy setup. Although it took an extra step or two for a Mac, it was still a breeze. Wifi connectivity is very reliable and pages print very fast. Text is sharp and crisp. I'd buy again in a heartbeat.

This is a good basic laser printer. I had one of its predecessors, which worked seamlessly. I like the wireless aspect. This issue is that at least 60-70% of the time I print, the menu will say "paper jam". Could be printing 1 page, or 6, doesn't matter. And usually there's no paper jam, either, so you have to take apart the machine for nothing. I like the brand and price point but would recommend looking at another model.

This is the first laser printer I have owned. Best Buy offered a great price on it. I love it. It is so simple to set up and easy to hook up to all my devices. Printing is fast and quality is great.
