I was surprised I could not feed an original into this machine and get a copy of it. You must have a phone or computer send it something to print. It is a printer, not a copier.

Always goes into “sleep” mode and have to unplug it to wake it up. Does not copy either. Ok for simple black & white jobs. Would have gotten a better printer if I wasn’t a seasonal resident

Product was fine, as expected. Delivery was aweful. Little to no tracking info, then was later than expected and just showed up out of the blue without further delivery info.

The agent I chatted with confirmed to me that this printer has an email.. as in I can send a document from Miles away to THE PRINTERS OWN EMAIL to be printed.. even if I’m on vacation. But that was false..mfc printer does that.. I regretted buying and I found out late to return it

I got a lot of experience working on Brother laser printers at a previous job, and always found them to be straightforward, reliable machines owing mostly to their simplicity. After all fewer bells and whistles also means fewer things to break. This is my first experience with one built for the home - and as it turns out nothing's really changed. It's a workhorse - plain and simple. I'd estimate that the total time to get the printer out of the box and set up was less than ten minutes, largely owing to the streamlined design. It's a box, with just a few access panels and buttons to break up the shape. Basically the only setup required was installing the toner and the drum, which come in a separate bag and slide straight in the top. Getting it hooked into my home network was handled via an app, which was much appreciated given that there's barely a display and controls are minimal. And there are two paper trays - one that's meant to hold an entire ream of standard letter sized printer paper (though it can also be resized to accept legal) and a smaller flip out feeder meant for letters or manual duplexing. As far as print performance goes it's very good considering the kind of printer it is. Monochromatic lasers like this are really built primarily for text and line drawings, and need to rely on stippling to recreate anything grayscale. I can't say it's not noticeable, and is something worth considering if you have any desire to print something with shading. But when you are using it for plain black text, there really isn't anything that can compare to how neat and crisp a good quality laser printer can be. Noise levels are very low and speeds are excellent too. Only real downside I found was its lack of a duplexer to do two-sided printing without requiring manual loading. While it's not as versatile as an inkjet or some of the color laser printer options out there, it's a very honest little machine that excels at the job its built for. It's a great option for crafters, small businesses, or anyone looking to print out the manuscript for their next novel.

I’ve had a great experience with my new Brother - HL-L2405W Wireless Black-and-White Laser Printer. It’s a model that keeps things simple, with straightforward setup and dependable operation. As someone who values ease of use over intricate wireless configurations, I find it ideal. Its ability to work with older Windows 7 systems is a feature I particularly value. The printer is also cost-effective and uses toner efficiently, though the price and capacity of the toner are slight drawbacks. Not having a USB cable included is a small hassle, but it’s an easy fix. The compact design of the printer is another plus, as it fits well in limited spaces. I’ve tried the Brother HL-L2305W as well, which is reasonably priced, although it connects only to the slower 2.4GHz network. It’s a bit more complex to set up, particularly for those not used to configuring printers. But once it’s up and running, the print quality is impressive. The performance of these printers is noteworthy; they produce top-notch prints and can handle a variety of paper types, including thicker cardstock. They might not be the best for heavy-duty printing, but for personal or small office use, they’re excellent. In summary, the Brother - HL-L2405W Wireless Black-and-White Laser Printer is a solid choice for anyone in search of a dependable, budget-friendly laser printer that is easy to set up and deliver consistent results. The Brother HL-L2340DW is a reliable laser printer suitable for basic printing needs. Its compact design makes it good for home offices or small workspaces. With wireless connectivity, it offers convenience for multiple users. The printing speed is decent, delivering sharp black-and-white prints. However, it lacks color printing capabilities, limiting its versatility. The paper handling is sufficient for light to moderate use, but it may not be ideal for heavy-duty tasks. I appreciated its easy setup and compatibility with various devices. And there was nothing to worry about with things like protected ink cartridges since Brother doesn’t do its customers like that. Overall, it’s a solid choice for those prioritizing cost-effective black-and-white printing in a small office environment. In addition to its printing capabilities, the Brother HL-L2340DW is backed by excellent customer service from Brother. They are super responsive and offer support that’s actually helpful. Brother provides reliable assistance with any technical queries, ensuring users can troubleshoot issues effectively. The printer's warranty and customer service contribute to a positive ownership experience. This commitment to customer satisfaction adds significant value to the overall package. If you couldn’t tell, I had a less than stellar experience with my last printer and the two letter company that made it. Brother’s got your back and I’m sticking with them from here.

Worse than the previous model. Ink is way more expensive and the ink that came with the printer only printed like 100 pages before running out.

With its compact size, fast and quiet printing, and simple operation, this is a great printer. The Brother HL-L2405W printer is easy to use right out of the box. Remove the packing tape from the unit, insert the toner cartridge, plug the printer in, connect it to your network, and you're ready to go. Connection to WiFi is simple. Using the Brother app on your phone, you find the correct printer model, select your network, and enter the WiFi passcode. The Brother is completely plug-and-play, and my Windows, iOS, and MacBook air all found it and connected immediately. Print quality from the brother is excellent, with crisp images delivered quickly. Operation is quiet and, at least so far, quite reliable. I’ve had no paper jams or other issues. The contents of the box tout the Brother Creative Center, a website where you can find fun, creative projects, from work templates to origami projects. What’s a bit odd is that these templates and projects are largely designed for color printing (as you would expect), while this is a black and white printer. No matter, I’m happy to know that the Create Center exists, as it will still work with my inkjet. Many Brother printers now come with smart cartridges and subscription plans. The cartridges monitor your ink levels and automatically ship a new one to you before you run out. This printer is not one of them. While some may see this as a disadvantage, I actually prefer not having my devices monitoring my behavior – I see it as a plus. Depending on your toner needs and preferences, you may want a unit that does offer this. Overall, this is a relatively basic but highly functional and easy to use printer. I would definitely recommend it.

This wireless Brother laser printer is replacing a similar older Brother model. The old one was working perfectly after many years of use but we really wanted the wireless version. The new printer arrived in great condition, well padded, with a toner cartridge included. I was happy to find it was virtually the same size as my older printer which has a modest footprint, 7” tall x 13” deep x 13.5” wide. There is a printed quick set up guide with a scannable barcode to obtain additional setup instructions. I downloaded the app and followed the instructions. Be aware that there is a tiny, and I do mean tiny, digital display on the left side top of the printer. For my older eyes, it was a bit challenging to read. I use this printer in my home office on my old Mac desktop. Since the OS on the Mac is no longer updatable I was concerned that I might have issues with compatibility. I had absolutely no problem. It prints like a champ. My checkbook software prints reports perfectly and quickly. We were able to easily add my iPhone, iPad, and my husband’s Samsung phone and tablet and print anything from another room. Everything works beautifully and seamlessly. We are in our mid to late 70’s so even old folks can handle the tech. From our prior experience with our old Brother laser printer I fully expect that the toner cartridge will last us a long time, saving money on ink/toner. This printer gets the job done while operating quietly and saving money. The print is easy to read and no smearing. I recommend this for basic home office use and it even has the ability to print while away from home.

could not successful connect with wifi. After speaking with customer support at Brother, I was told to just return. Very unhappy with product and instructions. Purchased an HP instead

As a lot of people are now, I'm working from home 2-3 days per week. Our offices are currently being renovated, so I really don't have any choice in the matter. I found that sometimes I'd have to hold off on certain projects until the days I'm in the office because I didn't have a printer in the house. This was getting to be a pain! I didn't need a fancy printer and honestly, I don't know the differences between an ink jet or any of the supposed bells and whistles on all of the options of models available. I just needed a simple, get the job done desktop model and this fit the bill perfectly. I love that it's wireless, I can even print from my phone. I had no trouble hooking it up. It comes with an ink cartridge which is awesome, and the cost to replace the ink isn't bad at all for the relatively small amount of printing I do. The prints come out crisp and the ink doesn't smudge. I don't mind that it doesn't print color, again, nothing fancy, probably wouldn't be the best choice if you want to print photos or anything like that. Prints return labels perfectly. Doesn't take up a lot of space on my desk. Also prints fairly quickly, I'd say four pages take 1-2 minutes? The price of the unit is great in my opinion, very affordable. Brother products are some of the best on the market! Good quality and good value. I'd definitely recommend this unit.

Continues to go to sleep. Cant print with USB nor wireless. Waste of money. Tried to reinstall driver and with USB cord it says cant find machine.

As a business owner I need a reliable printer to get what I need printed, printed. I need no fuss, no problems, no constant ink needed, easy, wireless when needed, ability to print from my phone or iPad when needed and of course a nice solid print. This machine is that and more! I was a little worried that this unit was going to be too big as a lot of these are just massive bricks and this was sight unseen here but I was pleasantly surprised that was not the case and its actually the lightest printer ive ever had besides a dinky ink jet from a decade ago which is great. It also doesnt take up a large footprint. The wireless connectivity is perfect as mentioned it can connect to and print from any device on my wifi even phones and iPads which ive found in the past isn’t always the case. On all my devices I didnt even have to install any drivers or anything it just literally worked when I selected it which I am glad about in 2024 theres no nonsense with it. At 30 pages per minute printing ability and a 250 sheet input tray of manual feed if desired it leaves nothing desired in terms of format. This includes the ability to print on several different size paper between 3x5 and 8.5x14” leaving a lot of versatility if thats something you need. There is a one line LCD screen to know the status of the printer of course which is all you need in a machine like this. You can connect it in a wired configuration via USB 2.0 when needed as well. There is decent pricing on toner for one of these and I dont think I could ask for anything more out of a printer as this is reliable, does the job and does it well. Highly recommended.
