Works well. Quiet. Uses less ink. Good quality print. Doesn’t make strange noises in the middle of the night!!

We bought this printer to replace our outdated hp color printer. This one was very easy to setup and prints fast and quiet when compared to our old hp. The fact that it's wireless makes it convenient to have it where the kids study and do their homework.

Printer is easy to setup for printing, air printing (IPhone & IPad), Fax and Scan functions are easily addressable from all devices. The price is very reasonable for a home office printer and the cost to print is very economical. The black and color prints are exceptionally sharp.

I bought this printer a month ago and so far, I like it. I've been looking for a printer for months and finally just went in and asked the associate which brand/printer had all the features I was looking for AND a good reputation. I was replacing an hp envy all-in-one. This printer has all the features and so far, has performed as well as expected. It's only been a month so I couldn't say whether the ink lasts as long as I'd like or if it dries out quickly. For now, great product so far.

I bought this printer to replace my older Brother printer. It literally sips ink. I do a lot of printing and have hardly used any ink. It is a very economical printer to run. Even though it doesn't use much ink, the print quality in both color and text is outstanding. The edges are crisp on text and the color rendition on prints is excellent. It is also fast. I would buy this printer again.

I get tired of paying a small fortune for ink. So we looked for a new printer that had better prices on ink. This one seems to be the least expensive ink price overall. The printer itself is a little slow for my taste but functional. It won't win any artistic awards, but the cheap ink more than makes up for it.

I purchased this for home use and to date this printer has worked flawlessly. Setup is very easy if you follow the instructions. Print quality is outstanding. I especially like the duplex functionality. I also like the separate tray for 4x6 print paper that you just have to move forward when you want to print 4x6 photos. I have done quite a bit of printing since I purchased this, and the ink supply still shows full. Wow!! I haven't tried the fax yet. However, I'm sure it will work fine. I had fax capability on my previous printer (Brother) and it worked flawlessly. All in all, for the price this an excellent multifunction printer.

The Brother MFC-J985DW printer has been easy to set up and has all the features I seek. The print quality and paper handling is very good. My only wish for the printer is that it only holds about 100 blank sheets in the paper tray. I wish it held more to reduce reloading frequency. BUT, the overall printer functioning was good enough for me to buy a second one for my wife! This way, we can both share the same print cartridges if one of us runs short. The print cartridges seem more reasonable in price on the Brother INKvestment cartridges. Also, Brother has a 2-year warranty, so no need for the extra cost Best Buy service policy!

I haven’t kept a page count of how many pages we have printed but I would say we easily have gotten triple the number of pages per ink catrige if not more than we where with our epsion printer. Overall it works really well. We have had no issues with the wireless setup and the app works really well if you need to print from your phone.

Bought this printer about a month ago. Was very easy to set up and took me about 10 minutes. What I liked mostly about this printer is that it is fast and when I copy or scan the top loading feature makes it extremely easy to load multiple pages, which is usually only found in more expensive printers.

I looked for ease of use, wifi-capability, and cheapest toners when I compared this Brother product to other manufacturers. I usually buy HP, but changed this time! It seems a bit more noisy (and it could be due to where I have it placed), but it is quick, can feed multiple sheets, has an easy-to-understand control screen, and the scanning capability is an upgrade for me. I have not used the duplex function, but I'm confidant it will perform fine. Actually, I consider the entire product an upgrade in each of the functions it performs and that I use. I am not using the fax function at this time so I cannot comment on this.

I found I needed a fax machine for occasional personal use and I got tired of asking other people to fax things for me. Furthermore using the fax machine at the local office supply store was ridiculously expensive and I refused to pay that kind of money to fax a of pieces of paper again. The printer/copier I have been using was old so I figured I would buy this. I'm glad I did. It works great! Instructions are easy to follow. I'm not very tech savvy but I was able to set it up, install the software and download the app all on my own. The wireless feature is fantastic. I was thrilled when I printed my first document from my cellphone.

I purchased this printer when my Epson Expressions 810 stopped working because the ink pad was full and needed an authorized service center to replace it. There are no Epson authorized service centers in the area. I also purchased the Brother brand as I heard it does not gulp ink as the Epson did. So far I like this printer. I wish the paper output tray was automatic when pages are printing. All in all it is a good printer for the money.

The clarity of the printing is better than I thought given the reviews. I haven't used it enough yet to comment on the ink savings, but it does let you know when you are saving additional ink. The problem I have with the printer is that it periodically indicated the the ink cartridges were not secure in their position. This would occur after the machine had been printing for a while. It would become necessary to remove each one and reinsert them. This was a nuisance since you could not really insert them any more firmly. After the machine used the for a bit, this stopped happening. Overall all, I am pleased with the printer.

This printer was purchased without my usual extensive research. The Brother Brand was known to be reliable by my daughter. Reviews were good related to my use and emphasized the super high-yield ink which would require less frequent replacement of cartridges. So far I am very pleased. The printer was easy to install. A negative was that there was only a driver listed for the XL model of this on the Brother website. Customer service was not helpful with this issue, not realizing that that driver WOULD have worked on my model. Controls are intuitive. Cartridges were easy to install. Print quality is good, comparable to the other three printers I have owned. Excellent value for the price.

Other printer companyies are scandalous. Finally a high capacity ink cartridge at a reasonable price. The printer was easy to set up. Works great, and much more reliable than my old HP.

I don't always believe 100% in Consumers Digest, but that said, I always like to get their opinion on purchases if possible. They rated this very high, not the highest rating but needing a fax function with it, and it was the highest rated including that. This is by far the very best printer I've ever owned and I've owned over a dozen throughout the years. It has a excellent print, easy to operate and install. I just couldn't be happier with it, so I highly recommend it and I must say I was extremely pleased with Best Buy's fast shipment and price!

Very happy with the Brother printer so far. Am early in use, but so far it is economical with ink and has been the best I've used for wireless connection. I have had several HP and Epson printers, and all were unstable for wireless and sucked ink, especially the Epson. The Brother has been rock solid and based on the printing we have done so far, it seems economical. A little slow printing, and wish it had a deeper paper tray, but no biggy. The top auto feed and the side feeder for envelopes and heavy paper work well.

Print looks better than I expected, based on other reviews. Setup was easy. Wifi works great. Don't know yet about ink usage, which was the main reason I purchased this model.
