Customers are impressed with the INKvestment MFC-J985DW Wireless All-In-One Printer's excellent print quality and ease of use, finding it easy to set up and operate. The printer's compact size is also a plus for many users. However, some customers noted that the paper tray is small and the printer can be a bit loud during operation.

Black and white copies turn out really light. Color printing is light. Sometimes black and white printing is ok and other times it is light.

These printers work ok for individuals in small office environments, but the cost of replacement ink is just too high.

This was very easy to setup with my new iMac as well as with iPhone and iPad. You just need to download the Brother app and its very quick. Print quality seems excellent so far and I'm very much looking forward to the savings on ink over time. This appears to be a cheaper alternative to the supertank printers that are new on the market. Fun to explore some of the options and features in this printer's menu. Hope to be able to use them all. This is a good size for a small desk. Doesn't take up a ton of space and has trays that easily fold up to save more space.

This printer is a disaster. Hard to set up to connect to WiFi network. Now that it is connected, every time I try to print it turns into a half hour ordeal where it either prints about a page every 10 minutes, doesn't print at all, or puts out a mix of blank pages and half-printed pages. Complete waste of $150.

I was talked into buying this printer over an HP by a Best Buy employee. The print quality is not great and it started to have connection issues a few months after purchasing. I will not be picking up another brother printer!

Customer service was bad. I was told they would not help me and to contact the store and maybe they could. Hard to understand the person who answer the phone. Was not helpful at all.

So far, so good. At this point in time, the printer works exactly as marketed, which is extremely unusual in my experience. I had an Epson printer, of which, I was replacing ink cartridges all the time. That printer ate me alive on ink, about $100 per month. Since buying the Brother printer three months ago, I've not replaced any ink and barely used any. Now, if I could only buy a printer that holds an infinite amount of paper, we'd be set! This printer is the best purchase you can make if your household prints a lot.

Great printer Got It to replace A Canon PIXMA MG but no longer work. Tip print from IE see I used the Edge browser the printed text mess Up Sear.com But I switch to Ie print outs were fine. Great printer but Ink can cost a lot to replace I think lower end print carts cost least but reduce Ink yield ,Are deals if you look around. Note you Can fast print and grayscale options. I bought this at A BB store in June of 2017 All problems I was Able to Fixed my self. Good print quality and simple touch screen, One Issue Is the small paper tray You need to pull out to refill the paper.

Setting up the printer was easy. Setup my PC, my wife's laptop, and my iphone with the brother iPrint and IScan app. Print quality when I set to best was VERY nice and the photo output was good. For some reason when I tried to print from my iPhone is kept using the regular paper and not from the photo paper tray. (I probably did something wrong - I will figure it out.)

This replaced an old HP that recently died. The HP was an ink hog, but printed decently. This Brother was very easy to set up: an iMac, Windows laptop, an android smartphone and an IPad Air 2 connected seamlessly and quickly. Be sure to download the right drivers from Brother and set it up right if you have a Mac. My two complaints with this Brother: it's slow as heck, and unless you use bright inkjet paper and best setting, the colors are dull & sorta washed out. Haven't tried photos yet and probably won't use fax. Hopefully Brother will do a firmware and software upgrade to improve the colors. Otherwise, just go with the next level down or get an Epson.

Broke in less than a month :(

We hadn't even printed 100 pages and we got a paper jam error when there was no jam (a page had just printed correctly.) We followed all the troubleshooting steps onscreen and no resolution. We spent 45 minutes online in chat and were finally told we'd have to return it to the store or brother for a replacement. We called bestbuy and were told we should have bought an extended warranty (!) and since 15 days had passed, we'd have to contact Brother. That required another call (35 minutes!) during which they tried to explain we would get a refurbished, not new printer. After pushing, they finally agreed to send a new one. I can only hope this doesn't have the same problem. What a colossal waste of time.
