Easy set up on all my computers. Ink last a long long time. Prints look great. I like how you can feed a bunch of papers in the top for copying.

This printer works great and I like the ink saver feature. It was easy to set up on my network and always accessible. The cons are that the paper tray only holds about 40 pages so it has to be filled often and the replacement cartreges are hard to find in stores. Brother does not seem to have their replacement cartridges readily available so I’ll have to order them on line.

I love Brother printers, first because they work well, but mostly because replacement ink cartridges are so much cheaper than others. This printer is supposed to reduce even more the cost of ink. Let's hope it works out.

The driving factors for us buying this printer were the wireless capabilities, that allow us to print from multiple devices, and the low cost of replacement ink. We also like the fact that we can purchase single colors of ink as needed, instead of a single cartridge that contains all the colors. This alone will save money in the long run. While the cost of the printer was a little higher than others, the quality of the printer, and cost saving of the INKvestment cartridges make it a great purchase. Additionally, setting up the wireless connectivity was a breeze.

After years of dealing with a temperamental printer (Kodak) that seem to need new cartridges to work properly, it is a real pleasure to have a printer that does everything it says it is capable of, smoothly and quickly. Top load for copying, side loading for longer paper, 2 sided printing , easy wireless printing from iPhones,iPads or laptop. Also has a very small footprint for such a feature packed item. Only negative is the paper catcher is a little flimsy

Set up worked without a hitch. Online and printing in minutes. The printing is incredibly fast. I definitely recommend this to others.

This printer was easy to install, and works very well! I use it to print and scan and fax as required. Color print quality is excellent.

I've waited before I had used this printer awhile before writing a review. It has not been a disappointment to me. The ink cartridges are reasonable.The quality of the printing is great. It is the work-horse of my home office!

works well and seems to use a lot less ink than my previous printer ( as expected). seems to move a little when it prints because of the weight of the carriage in the printer and it moves so quickly, but hasn't caused a problem. fax machine is idiot proof, which is nice for the office. i purchased this for a small business and the person that set it up said it was a little difficult and time consuming to install the software

Easy to set up, works great, prints fast. Sounds like a Bear in the kitchen when it first starts up, but it finally settles down.

Great printer for home use! VERY COST EFFICIENT because it uses far less ink that most comparable printers from other brands. We had an HP inkjet at home, but were constantly spending money on ink. With this Brother printer, we replace the ink cartridges far less often and they are cheaper. The quality of printed pages is also good, so this printer is a win all around. I recommend Brother printers in general whenever asked, and would recommend this printer for anyone who needs a basic home printer and scanner.

i have had other printers that were not reliable but this one seems to be. nice to know the ink will last longer very satisfied.

This unit is replacing an old Canon MFC that I had for about 15 years. It finally gave up the ghost (& it was an ink hog). I rarely print but, when I need to, I have to have it and this unit seems to print nicely. I mostly use the scanner for saving documents to my computer. I do a print quality check (which uses very little ink) every other day and hopefully this will maintain the cartridges. Note: If you want to scan multiple pages and save as a single .pdf, you have to use the "Advanced Mode."

This is a great low cost printer with many functions, print, scan, copy. It was easy to set up the wireless and works every time.

After spending a LOT of time reviewing inkjet printer options, I settled on the INKvestment MFC-J985DW. After two months, I can't be more pleased. As advertised, the printer sips the ink a lot less than my old HP PhotoSmart...and with no apparent sacrifice in clarity. That said, colors seem slightly more muted than my old HP, but not enough to be an issue. If you're looking for speed, quality, and low maintenance costs, this unit is definitely a top choice.

Prints well easy to connect to both laptops and iPad. Down fal ATF does not work on scanner.

Quality of print and copies is less then my previous printer. Installing the needed software on my computer was difficult, and I needed to call for help and shut down my Antivirus software before it would accept it. The paper tray is too small, any is more tricky to insert paper then it should be. The plus of the printer, is that the ink should cost less per page to print then most printers.
