We regret that you found the cost of our consumables to be expensive. Brother International Corporation offers genuine Brother Products at full manufactures suggested retail price. It is our intention to provide service and a full line of consumables to our customers so that if you cannot find a particular consumable at your local retailer or dealer, you can conveniently purchase them through us. Our dealers and distributors could run, independently, special promotions that sometimes would allow customers to purchase machines and/or accessories at a lower price. The ink cartridges do not last long. By the time the printer head does its regular refilling cycle and the few times I print in color. I am already getting the 'low ink' warning.

Posted .Hello, stated page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on the ISO testing standards. The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more inkand will shorten the life of the ink cartridge.
The cartridges only print in Magneta color.
