When I purchased the product and got home I noticed that it was opened I contact the store and they said " you must have put in the old one." The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge.

The LC201BK was bought along with the LC201Y, LC201B, and LC201M . I purchased them together. I wrote about the colors in last review. This is a second review about LC201BK . All four cartridges were worthless after just 12 to 14 copies. This purchase was a waste of my time and money. The cartridges that I got to replace the four I reviewed are doing fine. This was a bad experience all around with the defective ink cartrdd

Owned for 6 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have used Brother printers for years - They were solid and reliable - The last several sets of ink cartridges were problems - They were "dried out" straight from the box - One lasted a month and the next one same story - The dried ink ended up contaminating the printer heads and ruined the printer - same thing happened to my wife's Brother printer - Great printers but when you pay for authentic cartridges and they ruin two machines it is a deal breaker

Cartridges often jam. Am glad I was still able to purchase at Best Buy - is hard to find except online or through the company and their shipping charges are high.

too little ink for price

However after opening the box it only had color ink cartridge. When I went back to Best Buy to return them. They said that they don't take open cartridge back because there are too many cases of people returning empty cartridges. I understand the reason but I am still disappointed. Then I was required to buy the black cartridge so that I could print. Not good experience.

After installing the ink cartridges, I noticed the ink levels showed low on my printer. Thought it must've been a glitch. The next time I went to print something, the ink showed to be empty. I tried to exchange the ink cartridges, but Best Buy wouldn't allow the exchange. There goes $60+ down the drain.
