Even when I purchase Brother LC3013 3pk. of ink, the ink doesn't last very long to print more than 200 pages, if that much! Also, please note, the printer that I have does NOT print in black ink only with a full black ink cartridge without having plenty of color ink.

The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more ink and will shorten the life of the ink cartridge. Now, I understand that they have their subscription services where you can get ink replenished and maybe that's the reason why they make the options limited, but someone such as myself, who doesn't do a whole lot of printing, would like to be able to get a solution that would last me for a while before I need to get a refill.
