I bought this ink because I had previously use a compatible Brother cartridge and it wouldn't work and I had a message to use genuine ink to get my printer to work again, but I put it in and still didn't work, so I am not sure if the cartridge was empty or if my printer has found another problem.

Worked instantly in our brother printer

Replaced the old cartridge with the exact same model, worked instantly. Chose this over the extra large tank because we don't use this printer on a daily basis, and the thought was that we wouldn't want the ink to dry up. We use this printer once or twice a week, and the black ink lasts us about 6 months.
