Do not purchase!!! Black ink has not been available for weeks ANYWHERE and the printer will not work without black ink. I have only had the printer for 7 months and feel desperate enough to buy a new printer (not Brother), because no one seems to know when black ink will be in stock.

Good little device. Haven't used it as much as I planned just yet.

Despite this being a very good printer, I can only give it one star, because absolutely no place or website, including the Brother website, has the black ink cartridges (specifically LC401BK, LC401XLBK, in stock. Don't sell a printer that you can't supply ink for!

Like I others have pointed out, black ink for this printer has been unavailable for months. I never write reviews, but needed to warn people away from this product. I only purchased it 7 months ago.

I love the brother printers and this brother printer meets my expectations of the products they put out. It was a cinch to set-up and connected easily to my wifi. The only issue that I will say I had was inserting the ink. It took several tries before it recognized the ink, but that still did not take long for me to set-up even with that little hiccup. The printing quality is great and my documents come out clear and the ink quality is excellent. One really great thing I like about this printer is how quietly it prints. I did not hear a sound while it was printing. I love that! It printed my documents quickly and easily with no delays. I have had printers in the past that would slow down or delay when printing documents, but this printer was not one of those. I like that it is an all-in-one printer so I can do several things with it. The little dashboard screen area is self explanatory and easy to navigate. I love that all the keys are available as keys and not in the screen as a touch screen. I think that is more of a preference, and I appreciate that. The printer works really great and I can see this being a printer that will last. Its not huge so it can fit right on your desk. and won't take up a lot of space. The paper tray was easy to pull out and stick right back in. You also have the option to feed documents at the top, which is always a plus. Scanning was easy and connected easily to my computer. I would def recommend.

Ink takes a while to install, but overall good printer.

Very fast printer comes with lots of ink, easy to connect to Internet all around easy use and a hook right up to my mobile printer for Brother MLC – J1010TW mobile connection. I am very satisfied at this point with this printer. Hope to have it for quite a long time in the future and a very good deal at Best Buy.

First off, this Brother MFC-J1010DW id small Abd doesn’t take up a lot of room yet it has all the features of printers that cost a lot more. It is a great multifunction device for the price. It prints, scans to PC, scans to fax, copies and has built-in WiFi and automatic duplex printing. It has AirPrint for mobile printing as well which allows me to print photos and documents from my phone. The photo printing is good quality for this price. It doesn’t print as bright colors as my other printer that cost much more but it’s better than many printers. The built-in WiFi allows printing from phone, desktop, laptop and other devices but also allows me to access web services. I have only used the web services to check the firmware which updated to a new version. The duplex printing works great from my phone and from my PC. I have been impressed with the buttons on the front which are easier to use than many printers that require you to use the touchscreen to select fax, copy, web or scan and are sometimes a little finicky. Overall it’s a great little printer that feels like a more expensive one. I almost forgot the automatic document feeder for scanning, faxing and copying which works well but you can also open the cover to use the glass as well.

Set up was not easy and very time consuming. Would not recommend.

Amazingly simple to print a page or document once setup. When needing more elaborate layout, options are available on the unit otherwise the printer responds quickly and hands free for most printing needs. Scanning or copying is quick and painless. The footprint on my desk is compact, space saving, quiet.

Would continually pull more than one paper at a time and printing would be scattered across multiple pages

Do not buy this . The ink is not available anywhere to purchase. You will be left with a paper weight when you cannot get ink for it .

The printer worked fine, but how could Brother/Best Buy sell printers that you can’t buy ink for? Absolutely unacceptable. It’s just trash if theres no ink.

If you are looking for a good printer for a home office, this one will certainly do the trick. I have listed the pros and cons below. Pros: Small size, helps with storing it. I have a small apartment and this fit perfectly on my bookshelf. Fairly quick setup. If you have owned products like this one, the setup is very similar. The ink cartridges go in the front of the printer versus having to access the ports from the top. I like this way because of how im storing the printer. The printing and copying quality is really nice. I think it is pretty high quality. Being able to scan multiple pages is a plus. Now for the cons: It is louder than I expected. Its not overpowering or anything but I just expected it to be whisper quiet. The printing takes too long in my opinion. I tried to print a plain black and white sheet and it seemed ok but when I had to print 6 pages, single sided, and one color added, the pages took over a minute to print. Not a big deal but I know that some people might want one that prints faster. Overall this is a good product for home office use.

We had to return this printer. We couldn't get black ink for it not even from the manufacturer

Cant find ink anywhere, complete waste of money because the return period is over. who runs out of ink in the first 30 days? What a useless policy

The printer is very slow, had free ink for 4 months. The first ink cartridge sent to me was the wrong cartridge. Customer service is terrible. I will never buy a Brother Printer again.

There 1s no LC-401 black ink available anywhere including Brother's site. I'm regretting my purchase.

First thing I noticed about this printer was the ease of setting it up. This printer was not at all bulky but able to be put nicely in a corner and take up no space at all. The screen is easy to read and the prompts made it effortless to be able to guide a not-so-savvy person to be able to follow the directions and get it set up. The printer quality is fantastic. Printing out documents, the quality is impeccable to be able to present in meetings or just everyday things. The price of the ink is average but for the price it is very good quality. The printing speeds is really fast. If you need documents to print in a speedy manner and great quality, this is the printer for you. This printer scans documents as well as faxes and copies. The screen is a tad small but the wording is very easy to read. The test and printer sheet shows a clear image of what the quality of your prints are going to be like. I highly recommend this printer if you want great quality prints and good price on ink……..
