    Ink didn't last, printer struggles to connect

    I printed less than 400 pages before the laser cartridge was empty, far short of the advertised 700+ pages. It also takes the printer quite some time to connect to WiFi.

      Hi, the stated page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on the ISO testing standards. The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge.     Hope Yours Keeps Wi-Fi Connection Better Than Mine

    Great unit with one exception...the printer drops its links to the pc. I have spent over 2 hours with 4 phone calls to Brother service on this issue. If the link drops, you have to delete your device via the Control Panel under "devices and printers" and then reselect it again while ignoring certain info you'll see on your device page. Very frustrating! If it did not have this issue, I would rate it 5 stars with no hesitations.

    Difficult to sync to other devices

    Had issues with initial set up and getting it to sync with house computers and phones. After playing with it a while it seems to have settled in.

    This thing is an absolute piece of crap. This is the second Brother printer I've ordered from Best Buy, and the same exact issue that prompted me to replace my first one has plagued this one. Note - this printer is only FOUR MONTHS OLD. The printer randomly loses power, despite being plugged into 10 different outlets, and just refuses to turn on. Given the same runaround from Brother support, who are absolutely ZERO help. Will never purchase another Brother product again.

    Bought this printer to replace an older printer, same model. Loved the old one. The new one is not good. It will not copy two-sided as it should and all my pages have black dots of ink on them.I tried to take it back but they told me they couldn’t replace it, so I kept it. I have to have a printer so I’ve got a piece of junk.

    why in the world would Brother discontinue the 2740DW which was perfect in every way? This is the second MFC-L2710DW I am purchasing ... and probably the last. I am going to schedule GEEK squad to set it up, because the first one is tedius and does not fully function. It could be me ... but, if so, this machine is not user friendly. I have a few toners, so am trying this one again ... RELUCTANTLY! Otherwise, another brand. Why BROTHER, did you discontinue a winner. Is it for the $?

    Tech support is horrendous. In first call after 50mins on hold she directed me to the printer web address settings. You need a password to access them, but of course she didn’t mention that (i finally found it hidden printed on rear of machine) nor ask that i choose the right tab on the settings panel. Needless to say setup failed. Repeatedly. Next call to another “tech” after a 45 minute wait resulted in being told the printer was designed to be placed “WITHIN SIX FEET” of the router else they could not guarantee wireless network connections. Tho i think that is an absurd lie, if its true it’s equally unacceptable. Would never go near another Brother product
