Messy prints

(The original toner ran out and stopped printing surprisingly quickly). This product worked great for a very short period of time and then started to print very messy pages with black ink all over the place on every page. I took it out, inspected and found that the drum was very dirty with a lot of black ink powder. It was much dirtier than the original toner. This toner became useless for us. Ironically, when I placed the original toner back in, the ink level became full and it has been producing perfect prints since then for more than 3 months! Two conclusions, 1) the quality of the item I got was poor. 2) It is a shame that Brother forces replacement of toner much sooner than it should!

High priced

I used one plus a starter toner and have gone through them both within a month, I don't us it for high print jobs so hopefully, i can determine why i', not getting the amount of pages the reviews have mentioned. Also, super expensive

If you go to the Brother site it gets terrible reviews from smudging, lines and in my case, actually damaging the printer drum. Brother does not accept any responsibility despite scores of bad reviews for the cartridge. The want to make sure its genuine brother, and it is. Otherwise they just say if the two pack is opened past 90 days, even if it wasn't used until it was opened, its out of warranty. You'll spend days trying to make Brother pony up for this one. Do not purchase until needed and if it smudges, you've been warned by many many users.

The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge. Hard to find this toner

But being able to return it expired Aug 15th. So I am out on the money and out on the product.
