Best Buy always has the exact items I need AND this item was delivered the very next day! Best Buy seems to be the only brick & mortar electronics retail store that has what I need close from home because they have stores everywhere :) & their prices are often the lowest available! This item continues to stay in stock, thank goodness bc I've purchased it twice now & I purchased my Brother printer around 3-5 years ago; give or take some years lol. The printer this cartridge is used with is by far the best printer I've ever had to date & it's obsolete, yet printers don't really go through much in regards to innovations. BUT ONLY TWO cartridges needed after years of usage throughout my later university years & a few stay at home jobs where printed thousands of pages PLUS my dad would print thousands upon thousands of pages when he decided to work from home. My dad and I both work for major software companies in Chicago; him as head of finance and me as a stock, bond & equity market software development manager; so yes, my printer is utilized to the max, aka a single cartridge will last a very very veryyyy long time.

This was my first Brother cartridge for my first Brother laser printer. The printer was attractive at purchase because of its low price and compact design. After some period of usage, a light on the top of the unit indicated that the toner had expired. I bought a replacement TN-450, and followed instructions in the box to replace the original cartridge. Unfortunately the toner light did not go out and the printer did not work. I tried repeating the process several times -- always with the same result. I finally called Brother tech support for help. The representative was knowledgeable and helpful, but the process was very involved. Push this button 7 times, then that button 3 times -- on and on. I did not get any indication as to why this was necessary, but eventually it worked. When this cartridge expires, if the same thing happens, I will throw the printer away. With previous HP laser printers, there was alway a provision to return the used cartridge via UPS. Didn't have this feature with this unit, so getting rid of the old cartridge becomes yet another unwelcome project.

Since my purchase, I have only had to purchase 3 TN-450 replacement cartridges, and I print an incredible amount of pages every day. I have not been keeping count, but have not had the "drum" light go on for replacement yet. However, I have purchased one so it will not stop "production." The pages are clear, although I admit missing colors on a few of the things I print. When I buy my next printer, I will perhaps upgrade to one with color, but this one is so fast in B&W! I would hope eventually they will make color an option, so for most things you can leave it in B&W mode, then switch on color for the occasional document, as I could choose with an old "all-in-one" when I used the scanner. Otherwise, this is PERFECT!

Brother Got It Right With This One

This is the second time I've purchased the high yield toner (TN-450) from Brother and I felt obligated to post a review because of how happy I've been with this particular toner. Like many of you, I was skeptical in believing that there would be much of a difference between the standard yield toner (TN-420). I do a lot of double-sided printing and went through approximately 2 1/2 reams of paper before the toner warning light came on. Even then, I was still able to get a couple hundred more pages before it got embarrassingly bad. What made me decide to buy it from Best Buy this time around was the additional 10% discount I automatically got for using my Best Buy Credit Card during the online checkout. I'm not sure if this is applicable for in-store purchases. After taxes, I paid $67.21, which I now know, is worth it for this product. Look no further, this is exactly what you're looking for. I really enjoy brother products... Everything from my labeler, printers and even sewing machine. This cartridge fits into two of my brother products. I've got a regular printer that I use to print guest tickets for my business, an it works in my "all in one" machine...Making it extra valuable if one runs out before I can purchase a replacement. Definitely purchase yours through best buy...Its way less expensive than Staples (whish is almost 20 bucks more)...And u can have it delivered to you or the closet store. Also, when you purchase the "high yield" cartridge vs the standard cartridge.. brother provides a return shipping label that you can use to recycle the cartridge. Just follow the directions on the box and put it in the mail or UPS...Both labels are included!

We bought this for my 86-year-old mother to use, it's simple to set up, and from which to print. I change the toner for her, and that's fairly easy to do as well. We really like the ability to return the empty cartridge to Brother with a free return label. Except for the very occasional letter, the printer is used for free crossword puzzles we find online. This is where the print quality is really lacking, on some pages it is impossible to read the numbers in the grid itself! Plus we only use the 'official' Brother toner, and get a lot fewer pages than advertised. The cartridge is not inexpensive, either. In the end, however, this is much easier for Mom to use than the inkjet I use with my computer. Just be prepared for it to cost a little more than an inkjet to run.

    Don't believe "toner empty" warning

This cartridge started showing "toner empty" shortly after I put it in ("high yield: what a joke!") Yet it clearly had plenty of ink and printed plenty dark enough; and was long premature to its alleged print capacity. You have to "trick" the printer into continuing to use it by shaking it, opening hatch, and ultimately covering the sensor holes on sides with something black to fool it. It is still acting up every 50 copies or so but so far I continue to be successful in trickery to make it deliver what it promises. Otherwise, when it feels like it, it works just fine!

We have several brother laser printers - all but one in the "multi-function" category. All have worked well, which is why we keep buying them, and the same can be said for the Toner Cartridges. As with any other dry toner cartridge the usable life can be extended by removing & gently shaking back & forth. A minor inconvenience, but better than being dead in the water if you don't have a handy replacement at hand.

After installing the toner cartridge, the printer started leaving some streak spots on the pages. Even the toner cartridge it replaced wasn't doing that. Also, the print from the new toner was almost as light as from the previous toner (very slight improvement). I have replaced this toner cartridge in the past & didn't have these issues, so hopefully I just got a defective one. I thought the streaks might stop after a little use, but they didn't.

I used to buy this item at Office Depot, like all my other office supplies. For some reason I checked the Best Buy website when looking for something else and was surprised to see they carried toner. The price was at least 20% less than Office Depot and I could order it online first and make sure the product would be ready, rather than driving to Office Depot and hoping the store had it in stock. Since then I have use Best Buy on-line to order toner for my HP printers as well. Although you may need to order your ink/toner in advance, the price and convenience makes it worth it.

First Bother product; so far-so good. Replaced initial Toner Cartridge that came with machine. Easy to install, and I have always used Laser printers instead of "Jet" style. The print quality is very good for what I believe to be an inexpensive printer. My old IBM and Xerox Laser printers were much more expensive and replacement cartridges were also more; three to five hundred dollars. Wish this product was closer to $50.00 instead of $68.00. Like I said, so far-so good. We'll have to see how long and/or how many copies this new cartridge makes; hopefully more than others have experienced.

Contrary to other reviews, I have had my Brother printer for several months now and have been great success with my toner cartridges. I use it in the office with 4-5 other employees and we print on average 100-150 pages a day...while i have not kept track of the page count it runs in tandem with our HP printer and the toner falls right in line. I would highly recommend to anyone especially for the price!

    Good basic laser printer

This is a good basic laser printer for home (my use) or I suppose for office. There are a few negative comments about cartridge life. The cartridge that came with mine started complaining after a couple of weeks that it needed to be replaced. A little research on the Internet revealed that this wasn't (necessarily) true, and that the ink sensor in this machine can give false readings. Search the internet for steps on resetting the toner sensor in the machine (very easy) and you can keep using it for a lot longer.

The life of this toner cartridge needs to be revised. I bought a new laser printer thinking I would save money on ink from my old inkjet printer. I went by the manufactures recommended life expectancy of 1200 copies. That figure was not even close. I even had the printer set up on toner save mode. We bought our printer 2 1/2 months ago and about 2 weeks ago our second toner catridge replacement message came on. That doesn't include the setup cartridge that came with it. Life is good for ink manufactures.

I print a lot.....Hard to say if I got the number of printed docs it should yield. I just know not buying the high yield cartridge would be a big mistake for me. I did get 13 months of use out of the last TN450 high yield cartridge. After reading about all the error message issues experienced by individuals who bought generics cartridges, I always buy OEM Brother cartridges for my Brother multi-function. This Brother toner cartridge has always been dependable w/o issue.

I was running low on toner, so I bought this because it stated it could print more pages and last a little longer than the equivalent toner. I got a good 500 pages from it until it started to say low toner again, though. I kind of expected it to last longer, but it is easy to use, and at least I don't have to keep buying ink cartridges like I did for my old Epson or HP printers. Best printer I've had so far.

I have bought refurbished cartridges in the past and I have always encountered issues for some reason or another. I just do not have the time to trouble shoot and waste my time trying to figure out why it's not printing correctly. If you don't want to have any issues, buy this cartridge for your Brother Printer.

The Brother 2280DW printer is good quality and surprisingly reasonably priced. I think Brother price it low and deliberately make it difficult to use non-Brother cartridges - if you do get a generic one, you have to search the internet for the 'reset' code otherwise the printer whines about it (and the code is not in the manual) So when I saw the genuine cartridge in store and on-sale I purchased. It may only have saved a few minutes of hassle but there is a premium on your time.

I own a brother printer for 3 years now. I teach and was working on my notes to make them more understandable; the sample toner must have lasted me about 2500 copies - great! I was low on money and bought the regular size toner and it lasted me at least 1+ year. I recently bought the larger toner, and I am expecting great results. I have to add that I've been buying Brother brand toners and no generics; my machine and copies still remain in great quality.

These toner cartridges never seem to last as long as I'd like. I do print something almost every day. That said, it does last longer than the normal yield toner cartridge. Fortunately, the price has not increased since I bought the Brother MFC -7460DN. Best Buy was just a little higher than some other online sites, but BB was much more convenient for me & worth the slightly higher price. I'm happy with the purchase, and would recommend BB..
