The first time it lasted over a year. This last time it lasted only 8 months. Maybe I printed more... but i don't know. I will keep buying it because i hear that my printer can only use oem toner, which i think is unfair. It's still cheaper than using ink in an inkjet printer.

This is only the second cartridge I've purchased in 4 years of owning a Brother Laser Printer.

My Brother Copy machine I also bought at Best Buy keeps telling me the toner is low, but it prints beautifully yet, so I haven't replaced it with the new toner yet. I'm sure it will be easy to replace and use.

Posted .Stated page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on the ISO testing standards. The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge.
