Love the printer but wish the cartridge would last a bit longer. This time around I'm going to see if I can get a bit more pages by adjusting the print quality properties.

Posted .Yes, adjusting some of the print settings may help. There is also an Toner Save Mode option in the printer driver. For your knowledge, stated page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on the ISO testing standards. The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge.

Brother USA also has a toner recycling program which we are utilizing as well.

We choose to buy black toner only. We used it mostly to hand out copies to others on a volunteer basis.

Reliable Replacement

I am administrative subcontractor which means that I consume a cartridge in about six weeks. I have used a number of these refills and never had any problems with performance. I feel confident that I have printed at least as many pages as promised on the box, which is about 2 1/2 reams of paper, and probably quite a few more between replacements.
