For under $60, I expected far worse than I actually received. It won't break any speed records, but it's consistent and easy to set up/connect to. For the majority of people who simply need a printer "just in case" this will do just fine.

I had researched Canon and HP. Went to BB to make a purchase and our salesman recommended this Brother. Sure glad he did. This is a great printer. Setup was very easy and it connected to our network quickly. Printer is amazing and the quality of copies is excellent. Great purchase.

It was on sale and had an auto-document loader to scan. Unfortunately, it does not scan duplex, but I was aware of that. Bought because of a great sale price. The software is great as it allows me to build custom workflows. For example I can scan and the Brother sends the scan to my Evernote Inbox.

Test pages first showed no yellow, then after several cleaning cycles it showed yellow with black streaks. Fortunately I had bought a replacement set when I bought the printer. All working well after installing the new yellow cartridge. I have not yet used the scanner, but direct and remote printing both work well.

The bad: wi-fi connection does not stay connected and have to re-setup the wi-fi connection every day, Brother chat help is useless, color picture printing is ok. Supposedly, it shows the ink reserve independently for each color, but somehow all 3 colors and black are being used at the same rate, even though black usage is a mulitple of the colors. Conclusion: good enough considering the price and features but I would not recommend. If I was in the market for a new MFC, I would consider other alternatives.
