The digital panel makes it virtually infallible. It notifies when ink is low, when paper tray is empty. Gives instructions on how to clear a paper jam. It is wirelss, making it so accessable in any part of the room.

I decided to switch printer Co. due to issues with HP , 8 Conversations with HP helped decide and many reviews about my new Brother printer sealed the deal . over a month in and not disappointed yet . works great .

This printer is amazing. I needed an upgrade. I researched varies kinds of printers and this one came with everything I needed. Copier, scanner, fax. Cartilages are affordable and pages can be printed double sided.

My brother printer works great. I am very pleased with the performance. It is compact and takes up very little space. The inks are also much cheaper than the hp inks I use to purchase for the hp printer I replaced.

Works great. It took a little bit of time to get it set up on the wireless network - I followed the instructions, it just took a while. Happy with this cost effective printer.

This printer was super easy to install. I did have to purchase a cord because I was not using the wi-fi feature. The different color cartridges are a money saver in the long run, so I really like that.

Still works perfectly 8 months later, printer ink is not as expensive as other models. Highly recommend!

Good part first - I was having numerous issue with my HP all in one wifi printer, it won't print half the time giving different errors, No more of those issues, this printer prints perfectly, everytime - no errors!! Big benefit - it prints both sides of the paper, so that's straight forward 50% cost savings on paper and more green, full points for that. I can't comment yet on ink usage as used it for a month now. Bad part now - it took me more than an hour to set it up, and it was not smooth, and I am not tech disabled, that's the only reason for giving one less Star, overall happy when it.

I bought this while working from home due to COVID-19. Perfect for small printing tasks. I haven’t tried printing more than a few pages at a time but it’s super quick and brilliant colors!

I'm happy to have this at my house. It works for all the members of my family because we all have different devices.

Good print quality, not quite as speedy as I expected. Great scanner for letter type documents, sorry I haven't tried the copy or the fax yet

Replacement for an old HP printer. Love the wifi features and connection is good. Scanning to email is a very nice feature. Printer quality is good. Perhaps best printer for $60 price point.

The wifi Brother MFC-J497DW printer/fax machine is easy to set up and great for non-critical, everyday printing. If you want really excellent printing, find a more expensive printer. This is a small printer that will work for light, everyday, text printing, and non-critical image printing. The photo printing is nominal, but for the price of this printer, one can't expect excellent print quality. I recommend this printer if print quality and speed are not essential, but a basic wireless printer is needed.

Does a really nice job in a small footprint. You only replace the color that goes out not the tricolor cartridge like some printers. Very fast print, copy and scan.

It's a great printer the only downside is that it prints and scans very slowly. Scans and prints beautifully regardless and swapping out ink cartridges is a snap.

This Brother printer is inexpensive but works great. Ink is less expensive than other brands. Prints faster than most in the same price range.

So this is my second Brother Printer, I got it because of how much I liked the first one. Nothing was wrong, it was just time for a new one, I did give it to my brother and it still works great for him.

I absolutely love this printer so far. It has everything required for a college student. Super easy to use, super easy part to replace and it’s just perfect. Super afforadable and overall a great product.

The instructions are awful. Hard to set up the clock and can’t do anything until that is done. Customer svc at Brother couldn’t explain it either. Once set up it works great.

Good basic printer, had one for the ocassional color copies at the office so we got one for home to have the same ink available.
