i sale alot of items and have to print alot of shipping labels as well as jtems for work this is a good printer if you have a large amount of printing to be done on the cheap

It's a great printer for some using it for personal reasons. I had a Brother printer very much like this one before purchasing this. I bought a new mostly because I wanted double sided printing option.

I print primarily in black and white but still wanted the option to print color. My HP died and needed to replace. Found this has affordable ink cartridges. Easy setup. Good for the price

I have had 3 Brother printers in the past 14 years. I read no reviews when the last one needed replacement. When the MFC-497 was again available, I jumped on it. Bad decision. The printing is quite light and somewhat fuzzy. That was OK for me. My problem is that with less than a 100 sheet pack of paper used I have had 7 paper jam warnings. With 6 of the warnings there was no paper jam....still have to go through all the directions to clear a non-existent paper jam. Today, however I had a legitimate jam. No more Brother printers for me!

For the money this is really a full featured printer. I have only had it for a short period of time so I cannot comment on longevity or ink usage.

This is cheapest brother printer I have so far. 45 dollar. Still working good so far. I like this printer because I can bought ink from amazon with very good price.

Haven't used this much yet. Had to replace old HP multi-function and this fit the bill and my budget. Using it primarily for scanning documents and printing photos.

I’ve had this printer for a year now and have not had any issues with it. Prints a little slower but not a big issue at all.

Very good printer, scanner and fax combo for entry level. The scanner feeding on entry level is really good. Color print is also coming good.

Does the job pretty well. Like the fact that the paper tray is concealed. Easy to print and scan. Great buy for the price.

I needed a new printer. Great price. Works with laptops iPhone iPad and chromebook. Ink runs out kinda fast and I am not a printer.

I owned this printer for over two years and it is working very good. The installation of the ink cartridges is easy. Prints on both sides which is great.

Great, but slow printer. Reliable duplexer, and very few jams, all so far have been ghost, with no paper really stuck.

This printer is everything I need including fax capability. The price was good, and the replacement ink prices aren't bad either. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Great printer for the price. Capable of handling light office and school work. Quality is adequate. Little slow and noisy.

Only issue is it is tricky to set up with the small buttons.. Go ahead and buy the full set of ink cartridges as a back up.

I bought another brother all in one because I liked the old one that I had, it lasted like 5 or 6 years. You just have to print semi regularly so the inkjet heads don't dry out/
