Customers praise the keyboard quality, battery life, and ease of use of this wireless keyboard. They also appreciate the sturdy hinge and improved stability it offers compared to the original keyboard. While some find it adds weight to their Surface Pro, the secure fit and smooth typing experience are frequently highlighted as positive aspects. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the concerns about added weight.

Very Durable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As soon as i opened the package this came in, i took the keyboard out and immediately dropped it. :( (i dont suggest anyone purposely do this) but i soon knew it was going to be way better then the keyboard i have for my surface 3. i didnt see any mark or breaks and i bluetoothed it to the surface and it worked perfectly. i like that i can angle it just like i would any standard laptop and I LOVE that the keys are backlit. for it being "lightweight" it was a little heavier than i expected and it has been something ive had to get used to, but other than that, this is an excellent keyboard and i recommend this to anyone with a surface 3 and 4. (a friend has a surface 1 and it too was able to connect and work, though its only marketed to the 3 and 4).

High Quality, Easy to Use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't looking for a new keyboard for my Surface Pro, but after seeing this I thought I would give it a try. I've used a Surface Book before, and loved it, but I liked the svelte size of the Surface Pro more. So I stuck with the completely serviceable, but flimsy in your lap keyboard. When I saw the Brydge, my first concern was battery life. It's rated for 3 months, and I haven't had it that long the battery life is going great. All you do is fully charge it, turn it on, and connect it via Bluetooth. When I turn the Surface on, I do have to turn the keyboard on (minor inconvenience) but it immediately connects from there. Design and Use This is a great looking keyboard. It is impeccable. And while it does seem heavy when you hold it by itself, it really isn't that heavy when you take into account what a normal laptop weighs. it's got a nice layout with ample space, somehow seemingly more so than the normal Surface keyboard. i like the depth of the keys and it makes a satisfying click. The track pad is 1000% better than the Surface keyboard and is more substantial to boot. It is extremely accurate, I've had no issues thus far. Hinge The hinge is the biggest thing about it. It is really sturdy and the rubber "clamps" (although they're not clamps per se) hold the computer in place. So much so that you can hold the computer or keyboard by itself open and neither will move. If you like to take the keyboard off the monitor frequently, you may not like it as it is difficult to wiggle on and off. But if you never really use the Surface as a tablet then don't worry about it. Thickness The Brydge keyboard is thicker than the Surface keyboard and makes the device (when attached and closed) a littler thicker and heavier than the Surface. Not a big deal to me, but if those things matter it's something to consider I'm also not a fan of the hinge sticking even further out making it thicker where the hinge exists. But this is something you can't get away from, design wise. And I did have to stretch my neoprene sleeve to get my Surface and Brydge keyboard inside of it. So keep in mind of tight fitting Surface accessories that were made with the Surface keyboard in mind. All-in-all,if you like the versatility of the Surface but prefer a more traditional clam shell typing experience, this is the premier way to accomplish that goal.

Excellent!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually think of keyboards for tablets as cheap and just something to get you by. I was pleasantly surprised at how well built this one felt. It worked seamlessly with great responsiveness. Already interested in trying out the one for the iPad.

Beats Expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've just upgraded from my Surface Pro 2 to a new Surface Pro 4 and decided to buy the Brydge 12.3 instead of the Type 4. There is no doubt there is the added weight that comes with it but the added functionality of now being able to use my new Surface on my lap / couch is fantastic. The balance of the keyboard and Surface is perfect - just like a laptop. The keyboard is exceptionally well designed to match the shape of the surface and the feel of the aluminum is great. The keys and trackpad a great and just as you would expect. Really impressed with my purchase and would highly recommend.

Solid keyboard, great functionality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They keyboard itself weighs about as much as the Surface Pro. So if you don't mind doubling the weight you carry around w/ your SP3/4, this is a great keyboard. Its functionality is good, has all the keys you need, and is easy to pair and use. I do wish, though, that it was able to take advantage of the charging ports built in to the Surface Pro, or maybe even provide power back to it to extend the battery life. It comes with additional pieces to adapt the out-of-box configuration to an SP3 if you have one of those.

I got my LAPTOP again!!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the Surface Pro 3... and is one of the best computers I have ever had. My only problem, is I rarely ever have the opportunity (or need) to use it as a tablet. I need to use it as a portable computer. So the Microsoft keyboard, does allow me to use this portably... but not on my lap... it is very cumbersome. The Brydge FINALLY gives me back that option. With it's firm hinge and the Surface fitting right into it, works great... solid base.. an sit right there on my lap, and boom. The only negatives I have are: The touchpad, is a bit smaller and has just a small lip to it. Not a big deal, since I typically have the Suface mouse with me. Other is the need to charge it, and have a separate USB wire. Would have been nice for it to be maybe retractable or somehow stored in the keyboard; but it is a minor thing.

Heavy Duty but Heavy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Brydge keyboard is an all-aluminum, heavy-duty Bluetooth keyboard designed for use with the Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4. The keyboard buttons look more like a keyboard on a Mac laptop, and are infinitely better than the manufacturer's keyboard with flat, dead-feeling keys. Buttons are easier to depress and much more responsive. Ultimately, it gives your Surface more of a laptop feel than a tablet feel. Also included, similar to other keyboards, is the touchpad which is sensitive & requires little touch for input. The keyboard also allows the touchpad to be turned off, which is a nice feature if you're often bumping it with your hand and moving the mouse. One downside is that when pushing the touchpad in on the left side (left click), it is so sensitive that it often will move the mouse in 1 direction as you depress and then back the other way as you release the button. The keyboard, with its hinge, allows the Surface to sit at a variety of different angles without sliding, which I found very nice. The keyboard recharges with the included Micro USB cable and the battery life is listed as "months" (I've been almost 2 weeks on it with no recharging necessary). The Surface slides into 2 uprights that hold the device with rubber inserts that grip the Surface. It comes with the grips for a SP4, but with a pair of replaceable grips if you have an SP3. One note is that if you have a screen saver Brydge suggests you remove it prior to inserting into the grips. I had trouble inserting my Surface easily with a Zagg Glass screen protector on it. But I'm not willing to sacrifice screen protection, so I managed to wiggle it in there. With this fit, it's not easy to remove the tablet & use it alone as it is with the snap-on Microsoft keyboard. CONS: Being aluminum and having an internal battery also adds thickness and weight to the keyboard, and I found it made my Surface more than double the weight, which is quite noticeable. But, that thickness & the metal comes with the added comfort of being a great protection to the screen when the laptop is closed. The keyboard also does not have any place to hold the stylus. I had this in a case before that had a loop for the stylus but now find myself leaving the stylus in the office or at home accidentally since it's no longer stowed with my Surface. I would have liked to have seen something designed in to the keyboard for holding the stylus, even if it was just a clip to hold it on. In the end, this is an awesome keyboard, and I wonder where this has been all these years of struggling with the manufacturer's keyboard. If you're looking to actually use the Surface to replace your laptop, and not just be a tablet, this keyboard is the right pick.

Elegant
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this keyboard. It has a very elegant and durable design. The setup was quick and easy and it has decent battery life. The track pad has a premium feel and the palm rest were comfortable and didn't hurt my wrist. I love the fact that the keys light up and make typing in no light a breeze. It is easy to snap on to the surface and disconnect. It also didn't add too much weight. This really is a premium feeling product and I will highly recommend it.

Absolutely fantastic keyboard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very high quality with regard to fit, finish and the feel of the keys and trackpad. My Surface Pro 4 slips into the hinge like a glove and it holds it super securely. Coupled with the Brydge 12.3, it converts the Surface Pro 4 into a true laptop. It's what the Microsoft Type cover should have been.

It a question of balance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first attached the keyboard to Surface 4 my first thoughts were; this looks great, a near perfect color/polish match, and then boy this is heavy. I then pared the keyboard (it's Bluetooth unlike the physical connector on the MS keyboards), it was found and paired easily. The documentation says the BT stream of data is encrypted - a good this is important to me in a open internet area like Starbucks. Then on to the feel of the keyboard- I love it. The travel is longer then any MS surface kbd (I have had 3 of them) and the backlighting is easy to enable, disable and keep enabled. I've tried to use the surface in my lat with a MD kbd only to have it disconnect and then getting the screen angle just right is next to impossible. But with Brydge 12.3 the screen is held firm but can be adjusted to almost any angle (at 160 degrees is gets tippy) but for what is reasonable the keyboards base and weight if the base work perfectly. Like I said it felt heavy, but to do it's job it must server a counter weight to the surface, and it does so, striking just the right balance. Like I've said I've tried 3 different MS kbds none have the touch/feel that the Brydge 12.3 does. It is a real improvement if you don't mind the increased weight - a trade-off I'd certainly make. The Brydge 12.3 does, in my mind make the Surface a real Tablet/Desktop replacement. Color me impressed, it does Strike the right balance.

It does exactly what it is supposed to do.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After spending sometime with the Brydge keyboard, my review is a little mixed. I give 4 stars because the item functions exactly as it is supposed to. I have not had any problems with this keyboard, my problem is personal. Like I said, the keyboard functions perfectly. It connects right on start up, and the battery lasts a very long time. The keyboard is a little heavy and it turns my lightweight, superthin Surface into just a regular old laptop. Using it cancels out alot of the reasons I bought the Surface in the first place. All in all, I give 4 stars because it is a really good product, just not one I will use on a regular basis.

INCREDIBLY STRONG~GREAT TACTILE FEEL~BACKLIT KEYS~
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my humble opinion you simply will not find a better keyboard! PERIOD!! It has an incredibly strong and sturdy Full Aluminum chassis that gives it a feel like it is indestructible. The keys are back lit for easy use in low light conditions. The hinge is built like a TANK! Extremely sturdy and holds it's position to a full 160 degrees. The battery life feels like it will last forever between charges, The claimed charge time is every 3 months which means you only have to charge it 4 times a YEAR! Pretty incredible if you ask me for a wireless product running Bluetooth. All in all I would give this keyboard a 9.9 out of 10. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect 10 is I would have rather had it match the same color as the tablet, But I guess I'm getting pretty picky with that. I would HIGHLY recommend this keyboard. It's practically bullet proof and easily transfers your tablet in a laptop. It holds the tablet so securely you can pick it up by the tablet and it holds tight like it was permanently connected but comes apart easily when wanted.

Converts Surface Pro into a better Surface Book
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I tried the Brydge for iPad and it sucked. The ipad pro would easily fall backwards which really limited the usefulness of the Brydge for ipad. Now, THIS Brydge for surface is just about perfect. They seem to have addressed the weak hinges on this one. It turns my surface pro into a surface book---but even better. It's a tablet first and then a laptop this time. Plus, I can prop up the surface and keep my keyboard and trackpad in my lap/desk whatever---since it's bluetooth, it still works. Not an option on the Book. Not a five star rating since the keys could feel better, and the trackpad is very average. Quality is a good, but not great. I can see the seems, and the edges are sharp instead of smoothed. Overall, great product especially considering microsoft's own (overpriced) keyboard is about the same price.

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great case! Fits great, looks sharp and is made of quality material. The keyboard is comfortable to use and both the mouse and the keyboard are very responsive. The only downside is that it does add a bit of weight to the overall setup but it's not enough of a concern to take away a full star. Highly recommend!

Simply Amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been waiting for a new keyboard for my SP4 and this Brydge is truly incredible. The typing experience compared to my old keyboard is by far and away not even close. The keys have an amazing feel and the trackpad is so responsive and easy to use. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their current keyboard or wanting to turn their SP4 into a laptop!

Most productive product I have purchased in years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My new Brydge 12.3 keyboard has turned my Surface Pro into a laptop. It is so functional, great design, high quality, and the perfect keyboard. The backlit keys are nice to have as I travel all the time and use my keyboard in environments with limited lights. Airplane travel just got more efficient for me. Thank you, Brydge. Fan for life.

Best keyboard for Surface!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my Surface for a year now, and I love it. The ability to use it as a tablet is great - but the keyboard cover and kickstand was less than ideal. If I was using it on the couch or in bed it was frustrating since you couldn't easily brace the keyboard and kickstand while typing. With the Brydge keyboard I can use the surface like a regular laptop - but still easily access the tablet features. I find this keyboard easier to type on as well, which is a plus. Worth every penny! Having to charge it is a slight annoyance - but an understandable one. And since you only need to charge it about every three months not that much of an issue!
