Customers are saying

Customers praise the keyboard quality, battery life, and ease of use of this wireless keyboard. They also appreciate the sturdy hinge and improved stability it offers compared to the original keyboard. While some find it adds weight to their Surface Pro, the secure fit and smooth typing experience are frequently highlighted as positive aspects. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the concerns about added weight.

This new keyboard has been a great addition to my SP3. Makes it into a laptop so i can use it for work and on the go! I had a simple question and Brydge customer support helped and responded immediately. Thank you.

Nice Keyboard, but dangerous if not used properly

Keyboard works well. Hinge is a good bit stiff and makes usage a little hard. You have to be very careful not to install this on a Surface Pro 3 without first changing out the shim. If you don't you will destroy your screen. It's a great idea, but I feel the hinge is far too binding and tight. It needs to be a lot smoother. If it were, it would put less pressure on the screen when opening/closing.

The only keyboard option without kickstand

The touchpad is quite small compare the the Microsoft Type Cover and it isn't dynamic. It would be nice if the keys were closer to the screen to make space for a larger touchpad but the hinge recessions are in the way. I didn't have a problem getting used to the keys, as they are pretty standard. The keyboard is heavier than expected, probably to counterbalance the weight of the screen, even though it is made of aluminum. The Chinese aluminum edges are sharp where the pieces meet and the rubber is kind of sketchy as well. The hinge is of good enough quality to hold the screen in place and at any angle without any play. Mounting and unmounting the tablet to the keyboard can be a graceless task. Overall, I expected a more refined, slightly higher quality product for the price. Although I wouldn't consider it cheap or a ripoff, there is room for improvement in the design.

I am using the Brydge 12.3 with my Surface Pro 4. This keyboard lives up to every good thing the company says about it. I couldn't be happier and am glad to be replacing the Microsoft type cover with this gem.

I've been waiting for the 12.3 to launch for some time. I use my SP3 everyday and love it, except the keyboard. When I saw the Brydge 12.3 I thought this was my answer and it is. The design is fantastic, very sleek lines in a stunning aluminum body. My Surface is now a brilliant laptop and tablet all at the same time.

    HATE the trackpad

I could not wait to get home to try the Brydge Keyboard on my Surface Pro 3. I was concerned that it would not fit my Surface since I have a tempered glass screen protector and I heard that it would be a problem. It was not. It fit nicely. The keyboard is built beautifully giving one the look and feel of a MacBook or the Surface Book. I had no problem with the actual keyboard BUT... THAT EVIL TRACKPAD!!!! It is extremely choppy. Scrolling with it is so frustrating I had to stop using it. I read several forums on how to cure "choppy trackpad" issues thinking that maybe it was a Windows problem but nothing I tried worked. What is worse is that it's awful with every app or program I tried. Web browsing (I tried Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Opera) Mail app, Outlook, Excel, all were jumpy (choppy). Rather than having the smooth scroll that the MacBook, Surface Book or Type Cover have, the pages have a momentary pause, as if it had to think what to do next. I believe that if Brydge had a program (such as Logitech's SetPoint, for example) this issue could be fixed and that my review would change to four or five stars. However, since it does not, the trackpad issue is so bad that I had to give it two stars. If one can live with the choppy trackpad (which I cannot) this may be a great replacement for the flimsy, ugly, felt-using Type Cover. But since I cannot deal with it I will be switching back to the Type Cover because this sucker will be returned for a refund.

    Poor fit

I have used this keyboard for 8 months, figure enough time to review this product. Using surface pro 3 which said at the time this product would work. The cord which is sent along to plug into the surface is on the right side of keyboard and USB on the surface pro is on the left. Would think they would have sent a long enough cable for this to work (somebody was pinching pennies on cable length). The keyboard has rounded U shape holders where the surface is supposed to be held. They do not hold the tablet very well, it is always sliding out. Maybe for surface 5 would work better. The U shape holders are to narrow for the thickness of the tablet. Can bend the holders little but square peg still don't fit into a round hole. The keyboard does work well for typing no complaints. The mouse is very touchy if need to right or left click to use a function. Would look for another options than this keyboard.

This is an excellent keyboard companion to the Surface Pro 7. It is less flimsy than the standard type cover and the key travel is significantly better. The hinge support is strong enough that it can sit on your lap or desk without the kick stand. The battery life is pretty good and you can charge it here and there using the surface itself. Just an FYI: This pairs via bluetooth. My only "con" would be the weight. It definitely weighs a few ounces more than the standard type cover, but it is definitely worth the few ounces.

sharp edge all around it is driving me crazy

Only have it for a few minutes, but this sharp edge where the 2 parts come together, all around the base, is going to have to get filed down. I have to have my Surface Pro 4 function like a laptop, so I'm going to have to make it work. Hopefully they can get it fixed for the next batch.

    OK product/Bad service

The unit stopped working within the warranty period. The company doesn't honor their warranty for the product. Buyer beware. The product worked well prior to it's demise. The bluetooth connected on without a problem the keyboards were crisp and functional. However until they figure out why the battery died under a year's time I will not buy another one.

LCD Screen Ripples, and Awful Trackpad

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Seemed like it would have been an amazing addition to add greater portability and lap-ability to the Surface line, but this keyboard fell very short of its goal. For starters, when using with a surface pro 4 it will cause severe LCD rippling when adjusting the angles where the holders are. I am absolutely not willing to risk damaging my Surface screen (The rippling is much less pronounced on a surface pro 3 though). This issue, coupled with a quite terrible trackpad that has poor connectivity (will lose connection after 1 minute of no use, requiring a few seconds to catch up that you are using the trackpad again) and sensitivity issues (right clicking is impossible, type-clicking occurs randomly while scrolling) keeps me from recommending this product. I had a lot of excitement for this when it came out, but here's hoping the company can realize the shortcomings and fix them with a second iteration at some point.
