Wouldn't connect properly

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So I was at best buy gathering a few items and noticed these were on sale, I took them home and set them up-ish (mind you I have a lot of smart items at home) and these simply would not work. I had to factory reset at least 10 times per bulb... I had enough and returned them. A while back I bought Energizer connect bulbs and they connected easily and worked ever since. I just bought two more and has zero issues. Needless to say, the wifi connection within these bulbs are simply garbage and way more costly then some low end items.

Worst smart bulbs ever

I bought these light bulbs to work with Alexa and I never could get them to work. I even went and purchased a Google Nest mini to try and get these light bulbs to work and only for some reason one week later the Google app found the light bulbs and decided it would work with these two. Overall horrible experience I took it back don't buy these light bulbs. By sengled instead they work so much better.

FIRE HAZARD..BASE HEATS UP FIXTURES...GE is AWARE

I contacted GE because I knew they were still under Manufacture warranty, GE only response was we are aware of the base heating up. That’s our design. The base is so hot it heated up my lamp base which btw had the appropriate size bulb in it. I tried several different GE bulbs in different fixtures and they all heated up all my fixtures. DO NOT BUY NGE SMART BULBS!!!!

Did not Work

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These gave me a really hard time when I tried to connect them to the WiFi and they never connected to my Alexa or Google Assistant devices. On top of that, they would only work if I was home, I'm assuming it only worked because I was under the WiFi the bulbs were connected to but couldn't turn them on when I was away from home which was the whole point. Cant really recommend them since they can't be control from the outside.

Posted .Hi Nicole, our bulbs connect via Bluetooth, and are limited to control within a 40ft range unless assisted by one of our hubs. Our hubs include the on/off smart plug, in-wall wired-switch, or C-Reach. We recommend the On/Off smart plug. In regards to getting them connected with Google, so long as you have a 1st party Google Home device, it should be a breeze; give our support staff a call or email at 1-844-302-2943, or [email protected] they'll be more than happy to assist.

Have issue in the connection to google home.

Not what I paid for

It's kind of annoying when you pay for something expecting it to be what you paid for and when you finally get it, is not. I am keeping the c-sleep to avoid the whole process of returning them

Not good enough for v2

I have used bulbs by several different vendors and have learned many things over the past couple of years. One is to avoid a hub if you can, look for varied platform compatibility, and bulb functions. On just reading the description this looked pretty good; google and amazon compatibility, varied colors and no hub. This was mostly the truth. I initially set up thru the suggested GE app and it did find both bulbs and the app suggested I add these to my google home. Great, yes. I get the google home app to come up, no bulbs. I repeat this several times and no bulbs in google home. I did research online and there are 3 10 step reset procedures online. None worked to get google to see the bulbs. If you want Alexa btw, you need a hub. Using the Ge app I can have them turn on for when I get home and off about bed time. No voice control. Pro: They are “smart” bulbs and there are 3 white colors temperatures. Very bright bulbs you can dim Looks just like light bulb Cons Can be a difficult setup May or may not work with your google Need a hub for Alexa Bulbs get very hot on full brightness The reset process is extremely difficult You can use the ge app OR google but not both There are so many great smart bulbs on the market. Much better color range, better smart home compatibility, no hub needed for all smart platforms. I would say wait on this for an updated version

Wireless, Hub-less

If you already have a Google Home device or a Google Assistant, then all you need to do is open the Google Home app on your phone and install them using bluetooth. You’d be surprised at how effective smart lights can be. I have previously used a different brand but the other brand requires a bridge, which I needed to disconnect to make room for other devices at home. These light bulbs already work with my existing Google devices and it’s such a relieve not needing a hub. The wake-up cycle is very useful, as it gradually turns the light on in a dim fashion, but brightens up to the point where it wakes you up. It feels like a simulated sunrise inside of your bedroom. At first, I didn’t fully trust that I would wake up with just light, so I set up my alarm to ring 2 minutes after the light cycle was complete. However, it does work and I feel like I wake up more alert because it happened naturally, without an alarm suddenly sounding off. Another mode that I enjoyed was the theatre mode (or movie setting). We have a home cinema (projector and white screen) setup. Often, my wife likes to have some light on in case she needs to move around the room or to another room to attend to something. I don’t usually like that, but I concede. With theatre mode, the lighting is just enough that my wife feels comfortable enough to walk but dark enough that it doesn’t bother my viewing experience. I did occasionally experience the lights not responding to my voice commands, though my Google device would recognize my exact command because it would repeat it back to me. Since it wasn’t frequent enough for me to be dissatisfied, I plan to keep using them but hope a software update can fix that. Overall, a good product to have. I recommend this to people who plan to use this in their bedroom as an alternative to an alarm or for a room where you need to access the light but may be difficult to move through.

The devices are compatible with Alexa, but a hub is required. Then hub converts the wifi signal that Alexa communicates with to the Bluetooth signal that the bulbs communicate on. Not the best implementation of a smart bulb
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off unless you are invested in the Google eco system these are not for you…you will need to have a Google Home Mini to operate these. The idea is a good one, different settings for your sleep and wake patterns and they are easy to dim or brighten with the Google Home app…again and good idea if it worked. Connecting the bulbs took a little while to accomplish and they lost connection a couple of times. The weird thing is these are not Wifi but Bluetooth driven and that connection seems problematic. Perhaps these are all functions that would allow better flexibility if there was an option to also utilize a Wink Hub which can do all the things the Google Home app can do but they are not WiFi bulbs which is probably the reason why these are not Zigbee, Wink or some other universal home automation platform. Not much more to say about these except don’t get them in my opinion…I would have expected more from GE.

Posted .Hello, NyVetteGuy. Sorry to hear there were some complications with the C by GE bulbs. A couple of thing, is that these bulbs do work, outside of being paired with Google. There is a C by GE app that is available to control the bulbs, plus a C-Reach hub to work with Alexa and a different way to work with Google.
