    They don’t pair with devices seamlessly

    I attempted to use the bulbs with my google home mini, but after ~10 factory resets of the lightbulbs and my home mini, I have had no luck in the bulbs being detected by my google device. Both are plugged into the walls directly, not power strips, and they are only a couple of feet away from each other. I was able to connect the bulbs to the C by GE app itself, but functionally the app is poor. It’s not a strong connection to the bulbs (Bluetooth connections normally have a ton of interference) and you have to constantly refresh the app to get them to connect. Really poor quality tech.

    I bought these bulbs, but ended up returning them. I wanted something that was more plug and play. These bulbs need/want to be connected to a hub, which I don’t own. I want to simply connect the bulb to my home network, and have Alexa do her thing. This bulb needs more hardware. Not for me!

    I thought that these bulbs would work natively with HomeKit. Not the case. After receiving the product I noticed the lack of the logo for HomeKit. I searched for HomeKit bulbs using Best Buy’s filter.

    These light bulbs are so dependable and work very well. Have not had a problem with them- and the C by GE app is useful for this and you can hook them up to any smart device!

    Love these bulbs. My kids love changing the light colors in their bedrooms. I’ve tried several bulbs and my favorites are Hue and C by Ge direct connects

    The bulbs turned on and changed colors ... most of the time. I had difficulties keeping them connected to my Apple Homekit system. Pass on these and pick up some Philips Hue.

    The bulbs work great it's the app thats the issue. If you are controlling your lights from your phone and leave the lights signal range you will have to restart the app and sometimes your phone if you want to control the lights again.

    Don't waste your money!

    Worst product I have bought in recent memory. GE states you can connect straight through Google Home App/Mini/Assistant without having to use their hub for most functions. That you can use their App to create scenes and use them in Google Home Routines, while heavily implying in their language that you can do this WITHOUT the hub. Which would make these bulbs a FAR better value for money than most competitors. What they DON'T tell you is: A) There is a limit of 8 bulbs you can direct-connect in this way per Google Home Device you have - and even that limit is not reliable B) Google Hone in fact CANNOT recognize and use Scenes created in the C by GE App without your having the Hub, directly contradicting the implications of their advertising - I won't say they are falsely advertising because the language there is actually pretty grey, but it is definitely past borderline. C) When something goes wrong with these bulbs (not if), you cannot un-pair and delete a single bulb from Google Home in order to reset and fix it. You have to un-pair and reset EVERY SINGLE BULB you connected, then re-pair and re-program each of them D) Each time you un-pair and reset them, they become increasingly unstable and harder to both accurately reset and re-pair with Google Home (not blinking, not found, becoming randomly unavailable far faster after having been finally paired which ends in having to un-pair and reset every single bulb yet again in order to fix). I bought a total of 10 bulbs - 2 Color, 2 Sleep, 6 Soft White. I have had them installed for 5 days - that is less than a week. I have had to un-pair and reset all of them a grand total of 8 times in that time. "Works out of the box" indeed. Just this morning, after thinking I finally had them working, the Sleep bulb in my bedside lamp came on as scheduled in Google home, responded to a voice color setting, and then in the time it took me to brush my teeth became "unfindable" by Google Home. Please try again later. I am returning them asap - tonight if my schedule permits. I did not pay over $100 for this kind of stress and time wasting to keep resetting. It's too bad too. I liked them when they did work. But in this case, I guess you really do get what you pay for. Save yourself and buy Philips or LifeX.

    They were not what I was expecting. I have a GE smart bulb with audio and I thought these had audio as well. They aren't bad for what they are but they are nothing I would go out of my way to purchase again.

    Nice bulbs with a large array of colors available

    It is not explicitly stated that a Google home is required, but even after connecting to my google home, they're unresponsive half the time. Sure they turn on but they will not respond to voice commands 100 percent of the time.

    Is a nice set of light bulbs but it says it works with Alexa and it doesn’t, I would recommend if you have google assistance

      Thanks for the taking the time to leave us a review! Our bluetooth lights can work with Alexa when using a C by GE wi-fi enabled device or hub. The bluetooth bulbs can also connect directly to Google Home via bluetooth. We hope this information is helpful. -C by GE Support

    Not impressed. Weak range, etc..

    It is not compatible with the Phillips Hue system. Can be controlled via Alexa but the setup is a PAIN after you setup the first bulb. They also have to be very close to the phone you use to set it up. Returned.

    The app is so easy to use on your phone. And you can change the light to any color you want. Although pink and purple are not that bright.
