    We haven't used it yet, it is for a Birthday gift. My friend expressed interest in it so I bought it for her for her birthday.

    I had several problems with this light bulb and had to return them because I can't ignore the things I dont like about them. First, if you dont know, "soft white" means the light will be yellow even though the word white is in the description. So these were nasty dull but bright yellow color that just didn't look good in my home. Second, this never paired in my Google Home app or with the Google Assistant/clock and I had to download the C by GE app to make them work. Thirdly, the bulbs do not turn on when you're far away from home. You have to leave the lights on, meaning the switch has to be on and then you turn off the actual bulbs through the app, but if you want to turn them on when you're outside of your home, the bulb says problem connecting even when you leave the switch on (doesn't work if the switch is off) so these are pointless because I wanted to control my light when I'm away because when Im home I can just flick the switch. They work through WiFi so not sure why they dont work even though they're linked to my WiFi. These were a waste of time, please dont buy them.

      Nicole8, Thank you for your feedback. We are always working to improve our products and certainly appreciate you taking the time to let us know what your thoughts are. For the bulbs to connect to with Google Home a 1st-party Google Home Hub/speaker is required. It sounds like you were trying to connect through a 3rd party clock with Google Assistant built-in. While you can control the devices with the Google Assistant built into the clock, it does not contain the proper software to link with the bulbs. All smart bulbs require constant power. If you turn off the power source (is this case the wall switch) the light would not be able to receive the commands that you send to it, therefore not working as an "on-demand" smart device. The bulbs communicate via a Bluetooth connection. In order for the lights to link to your phone while you are out of Bluetooth range, connecting the light to one of C by GE's 1st party hubs (the plug or a wired switch) or to a Google Home 1st party hub (Google Nest Hub, Mini, Google Home Hub, etc.) is necessary. We apologize that you had this experience.     When purchased we did not realize we would need the GE hub to use with the Echo Plus. Returned for bulbs not needing g extra hub

    So far my google mini ormy google home havebeen able to get these to work. It has a stand alone app that works fine. C

    I wish I never bought these. The app was horrible for a few yeara until they finally updated it. It's still not great. This lightbulb does not connect to my Alexa or Google Assistant. Useful for dimming but it's also not a very bright bulb.

    Not very good range if you use it as an outdoor bulb, I did purchase the hub to see how that’s going to work.

    These are Bluetooth not wifi. They don't work with Google home. It is not voice activated

    Quality bulbs but confused marketing

    I believe there are 3 iterations of this bulb with no distinct model numbering: oem GE hub, Alexa, and Google Home. They look identical except for their very subtle packaging which the end user throws out after installing. These bulbs are not interchangeable and their firmware cannot be updated. This becomes dangerous when looking for additional bulbs over time or changing / adding ecosystem.
