    C by GE Smart bulbs (Waste of money and time)

    This is one of the worst smart devices I have brought in my life. It waste a lot of my time. It only works with the C by GE app; it doesn’t work with Google assistant and Alexa. Please don’t buy this item. You will waste your time and money.

    Absolutely needs a hub

    will barely operate even sitting next right next to it. for full functionality it must be paired with a home hub (another $50+ device) does not work directly with alexa, google home can't even find the bulbs without a hub. will be returning to store.

    I had a few of these hooked up in my main room. Unfortunately, that's far too many, as they stop working together when there's more than about three of them, because the wireless chips in the bulbs apparently suck harder than the vacuum of space.

      If you are directly connecting the lights to Google Home you are correct there is a limitation of 6 bulbs per Google Home speaker. If you are using one of our hubs the you can connect up to 32 of the C by GE bulbs to each hub. The limitation of the chips is not with the bulbs (Google announced an issue with their bluetooth chips in the Google Home speakers earlier this year).We'd love to help get you set up.     Garbage lights

    I bought these to replace my Philips hue bulbs so I didn't need a bridge and wow these were bad. Google home won't connect to the bulbs properly and the C app by GE is trash, doesn't detect the bulbs either. Guess I'm never switching from Philips...

    I did not like this bulb. It just worked right for like a month and just do not work as a smart light, i resettled few times and it did not worked, now works just like a regular bulb i have turn it on/off with the switch.

    Just received my C-Life A19 Smart Bulbs by GE. Each bulb in this 2-pack has the same output as a 60-watt incandescent bulb. The instructions talk about needing a Google Home Mini, which I already have, so I’m going to jump to a conclusion and say that the Mini is needed to make these bulbs work. Step 2 says to screw in the bulb in the same room as your Mini. Step 3 says to turn on the light. Step 4 says to download the Google Home app to set up the Mini and the Bulbs. I already had the Mini and the Google Home App, so those steps were skipped. I ran the Home App and it sensed that one of the bulbs was newly installed. It then flashed the bulb for me, had me continue to the next setup page to identify the room and where the bulb was located within the room, and that was it. The installation of the first bulb was complete. Using the Home App, I could now turn the bulb on and off as needed by selecting either “On” or “Off”. The app also shows you an image of a light bulb. If you tap on the image, it permits you to make the bulb brighter or dimmer as needed. This couldn’t be any simpler. As I mentioned above, the instructions state to screw the bulb in the same room as the Home Mini. As a test, I installed the second bulb in an adjacent room at least 50 feet away from the first bulb and the Home Mini. I ran the Home App, it found the new bulb, went through the setup procedure, and that bulb was up and connected in no time. To confirm that the Home App would still communicate with these bulbs when I’m away from home, I drove a distance from home and tested both out. My spouse reported that both bulbs turned on and off perfectly. The first bulb I installed kept showing signs of flickering. I quickly determined that it was the dimmer switch I had connected to the light for the previously installed conventional bulb. Once the dimmer was removed, the flicker was gone. It’s too soon to determine the longevity of these bulbs, though the package indicates that with three hours a day use these bulbs should last 13.7 years. Finger’s crossed!

    Limitless control and a pleasant soft white light

    These smart LED light bulbs came with no instructions but once I got them set up they worked quite well and produced a very pleasant soft white light that can be dimmed to suit your preference. They do not require a bridge to use. They can be configured and controlled by the C by GE App. --Setup— I did not configure them with a bridge. I used the C by GE App. Once I had the GE App installed on my iPhone, it was simple to link the bulbs and configure them. The GE App works via Bluetooth, so if you go this route you are limited to short range control. --FEATURES-- The App provides a very complete and extensive level of configuration to create scenes, control the dimming levels, and set a schedule. Each bulb can be customized individually or as a group. --VERDICT-- Not only am I very impressed with the comprehensive level of customization, which appears to be nearly limitless, but the illumination is very pleasing and perfect for home use. I plan to get more! --TIPS— The APP settings can be overridden by switching the light switch off and on rapidly. If you want to control them while away from home, you must use either an Alexa or Google hub device.

    Got 2. Both disconnected from Google Home after one week. I was able to reconnect one but the other one refuses to reconnect. Tried everything, resetting everything and still nothing.

    Do not buy. These are garbage and never work properly. Tech support are all out of country and are garbage as well. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more for Philips Hue. Compete waste of time and money.

    Stopped working with google assistant

    I brought these over Christmas and got it to work then 3 months later it stopped working with Google assistant. I have to turn it on manually requiring losing some calories

    Terrible product. Had to return multiple times just to get one that was not broken. Problematic to set up. Buy Feit electric products works better, cheaper and can do more.

    We cant get these bulbs to work with our google assistant, They wont recognise our gmail address. Tried trouble shooting online. Found many others witb same problem.

    Waste of money . Bot a two pack the only way I could get a bulb for my daughters room for her birthday . But had both go bad with in an hour of installing .

Please note: If your bulbs have simply stopped responding to voice commands or app control, this means that they have simply lost their Bluetooth connection, not that they have gone bad. If you are using Google Home, please refrain from resetting your bulbs or unlinking them from the app. Simply reboot your Google Home device by unplugging it and plugging it back in. If the bulbs are failing to turn on, there may be an issue with the light that they were installed in. The probability of both bulbs breaking at the same time would be extremely low. Please ensure that you are not using the bulbs with a three-way lamp, or a dimmer switch. Using your bulbs with either will cause damage to the bulb.     Poor Bluetooth lightbulb

    This is not a very smart lightbulb. Was able to get both bulbs to work once and the they both disconnected. Don't waste your time with these.

    Returned them. They need a "hub" to operate. I thought Google nest was a hub but I guess not. I'll stick with smart plugs.
