I don’t like it it’s not bright and doesn’t work often

Received the light bulbs and was looking for instructions in regards to making the bulbs work. Other than downloading the app, there were no instructions. After downloading the app and reading the box, the instructions found implied that I needed a bridge between my phone and the bulbs to make them work. While researching the $50 GE bridge, I happen to come across some smart plugs for $5...I figured...worth a shot. Bought the smart plugs and synced them to my phone and Alexa and the smart bulbs work great as advertised. Prior to these bulbs, I really didn't see a need for the bulbs, but it is nice to have access to turn your lights on and off when you're away.

These GE C-Life Bluetooth Smart LED Bulbs do exactly what they are designed for. The light they give out is bright, yet not glaring. There is a solid ‘weight’ to them, so you know they are more than just your average lightbulb. I appreciated the quality of how well they appeared to be made. The GE brand is one I have always used for my basic lighting needs, and now they have added smart bulbs to their line of trusted, innovative products.

As an investor in both Amazon & Google’s eco systems, I am elated to add these bulbs to my ever-growing upgrade to smart home. The bulbs are easy to use as they are basic 60-watt bulbs. For now, I am using them with control of the C app which works great. I am anxious to see how long the bulbs will last, because at approximately $12 a bulb can be expensive if they require frequent replacement. In the meantime, everything is great thus far!

As someone who has an extensive Google Home ecosystem, I really love how easy it was to integrate the GE C-Life bulb into my existing Home setup. As others have mentioned, there is no documentation at all about setup, other than what is on the box. That's a shame, because the C-Life app itself deserves some mention. Through the app, you can control scenes (different shading and such) as well as set schedules. You can do similar stuff through a Google Home or Google Home Mini. At first, I didn't even download the app. I just followed the instructions on the outside of the box, which literally say: 1. Plug in your Google Home Mini. 2. Screw in your C-Life light bulb in the same room as your Google Home Mini. 3. Turn on the light. 4. Download the Google Home app to set up your Google Home Mini and the light bulb. Side note, the bulb does not need to be in the same room as the mini, as far as I can tell. I appreciate that the bulb does not need a hub. Most of my other smart bulbs require the use of a hub. And while I really like them, too; the hub is an extra box sitting by my router. The GE C-Life bulbs do not require anything other than an app, which you most likely already have if you're considering smart bulbs. If you don't have a smart ecosystem, then you can still use the C-Life app with your phone or tablet. As with most smart bulbs, it doesn't get quite as bright as a "normal" bulb. But you can set it to different types of light (more white, more yellow, and such) and you can vary the intensity at any time with a voice command. I really love these bulbs and will plan to get a few more.

I love these light bulbs. I am disabled and sometimes it is hard for me to turn on light switches with my hand. These have come in so handy. It is especially easy if you have a Google Assistant. You can control it with your assistant and with your Google Assistant on your cell phone. I love that it has dimming capabilities, so if you don't want a stark bright light, you can dim it to a nice calming hue. It can be a little tricky to set up if you're not familiar with Google Assistant, but once set up, it works flawlessly. I have found that even lamps that I never used in a long time, I am now using again because it's so easy. Not only that, but I find that these are great for conserving electricity because if you leave a room and you forget to turn the light off, you can just tell your Google Assistant to turn it off even if you're in another room. You can also control it from your phone outside of your home. It's great if you don't want to walk into a dark house, or if you have to get up in the middle of the night, where you can tell it to turn on a living room lamp and all the sudden it will be a lit up room. I would definitely recommend these.

These work very well. It is nice to control via the phone app. Very easy to setup and integrate with google home as well.

Just received my GE Life Smart Bulbs and I must say I'm more impressed than I thought I would be. These bulbs are very simple to use. Just screw the light bulb in like you normally would any other bulb, download the "C by GE," companion app from the App Store or the Google Play Store, and connect via bluetooth settings on your phone. The app is easy to use and guides you through a step-by-step process to get you up and running in 2 minutes or less. After logging into the app, you can add your devices/scenes under the Home tab. The Automation tab allows you to schedule which scenes/rooms turn on/off or change throughout the day. Like you can have a "Good Morning" scene where the smart bulb comes on at 100% at 6:30 AM, or have it set up where at 6:30 AM the light turns on in the living room and not your bedroom. The last tab is the settings tab which is general account info, firmware update info, etc. I totally recommend these lights for anyone looking to get into Smart Bulbs for your home. My only gripe which is not a deal-breaker is I did have trouble connecting them through the Google Home app. But the C by GE app worked just as good. Also I wish they were compatible with the Apple HomeKit but again they worked just as good with the C by GE app.

Couldn't wait to get these, was very excited to be able to control my lights by voice or via the app. I have seen the other comments complaining about no instructions or lack of paperwork in the box. It clearly says on the box what to do, open up your google home app and set up new devices. everything connected up easy and works great.

I received a 2 pack of lights to review. The GE - C-Life A19 Bluetooth Smart LED Bulb looks like your standard light bulb. On the package it says to pair your device to the Google Home mini but does not say anything about downloading the GE C app. Since I do not have a Google Home mini I downloaded the app to pair the bulbs with. After screwing in the bulbs, turning them on and downloading the app and pairing them I was ready to go. You can set schedules for your lights to turn on and off as well as the percentage of dimness you prefer. One major plus for me is that a hub is not necessary to operate these lights. But I believe there is a separate hub that you can purchase that adds voice features and away from home features as you would with a Google Home device, so you have plenty of options. It would be interesting to see if GE comes out with a colored led version of this light.

So far they work great. They are meant to work with a google home system. I don’t have one yet. But I own a iPhone and there are 2 apps. Google home and c by GE. The c by GE app worked for me. Took a few tries to get it but it worked. I placed 1 bulb in my room and the other in the bathroom in my room. It’s nice that I can turn on the light with my phone or turn it off. As well as can dim the light. I was afraid that you would need the app to work the light but not the case. If you dim light or turn off via app. And someone needs the light on they just have to switch off and back on.

This does what it says but does require Google Home to operate. Many ways to control lighting. Wish it worked with Apple.

Not much to say. Downloaded the app, screwed in the 2 bulbs, connected them to the app. On, off, on...and dimmer. Pretty simple and works exactly as expected. May buy a few more!

Great Bulbs for a Smart Home, I use them with Google Assistant and they work amazingly. The Pros: Dimable Bright Quick Lighting Room Specific Cons: Only 6 Per Google Home Setup Otherwise Nothing LOVE EM!

For the price, these are great bulbs to use in locations that aren't frequently used like laundry room, bathroom, garage. A little boring for the living room and not bright enough for a kitchen. They connect easily to Google Home speakers and the reset is not hard. You need to use a lamp or ceiling light with a simple on/off switch and the reset is easy. Sad to hear so many people can't count and flip a light switch.

Although this product is no longer getting sold on at best buy, I want to throw my cents in this review. Lets get into the point, the light source is great. The light is great and you can control the brightness via the google home app. However, the flaw comes in the following. The light has a random chance of disconnecting and you would have to reset the light bulb every time it happens. Still, I won't bash on this light hard because it still functions without the app but at that point, whats the point of buying this? Overall this light is fine but it just a hassle to deal with the connecting issue everytime.

These lights have been great. The set up was super easy, especially if you have used Google Home before. The price point can't be matched as well.

I thought these worked with my Google Pixel and the Google Home app, but when the phone couldn't find the bulbs, I read the directions. Step 1 says to plug in the Google Home Mini. Had I known, I wouldn't have signed up to test the bulbs. Kind of a bummer. I have the Insignia Google Home Mini speaker, but that doesn't seem to work. Anyway, if I get a home mini down the road or on Black Friday, maybe the stars will go from 1 to 5, but for now I'm disappointed in the product. Home automation is still in its infancy so I have parts from Alexa, Cortana and Google. Each does what I want it to do, but none of it talks to each other and that needs to change. Manufacturers need to develop a standard, like routers and allow communication regardless of the platform the end user is using. I'd only recommend this if the buyer has the necessary Google hardware and knows that's the system they wish to continue with.
