    Bulbs work well. Love the dimmable feature. The thing I dont like is the app. After installation and setup use it with whatever you want. Alexa or google home etc. Good entry level bulbs.

    I wnet crazy and set up my entire house with these

    initially only bought a few, but then i loved it and went and bought these for my entire house. well most of the house. The negative reviews are likely because it is pretty confusing to initially set up. But I'll explain some things i figured out during my process.. The lights give off their own form of wifi. that wifi gets read by the smart outlet (that's included). I tested and put that smart plug clear across my house and it still connected to the lights. but likely best to put it in the same room or a hallway that can reach all lights. Setup: Download "c by ge" app. create account. Plug only one device in.. add device (within c by ge app). Then put one light in. add it to c by ge app. then turn that light off and add the next light. etc etc. now you can control lights and fans etc (smart outlet) via yoru cell phone. But to make it even better, and voice controlled; buy a $20 google mini; Then download 'google home' app (if you don't have it). Then there is an option to import over c by ge devices that are already set up. Just pull over a few devices at a time (group by room) so that you can import bedroom lights (for example) into a new room (that you call "bedroom"). sounds confusing but when you see the prompts you will know what i mean. when you are all done, you will have various rooms in your google home app. Then buy more of these lights... and more google minis. lol. :) you can dim the lights, set up something to be controlled by the smart outlet. I plugged my Christmas tree into the outlet. so then i just tell google "turn on Christmas tree" and my lights go on. in the summer I will plug a fan into it. then you can turn the fan on and off. i love it.

    I loved the lights and plug. They're a good light temperature and can get fairly bright. I've never had issues with them turning on or off. With the app you can set daily routines for the lights and I love being able to have my lights come up with my alarm. Also being able to dim my lights before I got to bed and turn them off from bed is amazing. I'd definitely recommend getting a smart home speaker if you purchase these.

    I’ve set these up in two different rooms and they can be controlled using the C by GE app on my phone or by Google Home (phone app or Google Nest Minis). You can turn them on and off and set the brightness level anywhere from 10% to 100%. It’s nice to be able to adjust the room lighting without getting up from the couch. Or have routines to turn lights off at night or on in the morning. I know I’ll be getting more. Lots more.

    These bulbs are awesome. They are easily controlled with you phone via the C by GE app, or you can even sync them up with you google home device. The only thing is you can do both, once the light is synced it can't be added to another device, unless im doing something wrong. You can dim them which is a great feature for evening time. The plug is a nice addition to those hard to reach outlets. I'll certainly be getting more.

      Pilotguy, Thank you for your review! Because the plug is also a hub for your lights, you can link to both the C by GE app AND Google Home. Add them to the C by GE app first, then add them to the Google Home app following the "have something already setup" option.     I got these specifically because they are compatible with google assistant. The set up is easy and within the google home app. The smart plug this comes with is a nice addition!

    The product is a great quality and a great price. It was really easy to set up. However, I didn't realize when I purchased them that they were only the white bulbs. If you're looking for a color changing option, find something else! It was nice that they came with an outlet plug to make that smart as well. Super easy to setup and integrate with Alexa.

    Smart Light Bulbs? Yes they are!

    C is GE's smart home system and this "Made for Google" and "Alexa" product is designed with simple set up in mind. If you don't have Google Home or Amazon's Alexa, there's no need to worry, it's a compatibility, and not a requirement. GE also has their own app you can download and use to control these lights. It is worth noting that the two are mutually exclusive. If they're controlled by Google Home or Amazon's Alexa, they can't be controlled via the GE App (and vice versa). C by GE can come pre-paired to Google or Alexa, or un-paired (like this item). Set up and pairing is a little extensive, but all steps are simple to follow and execute. I received these bulbs as a free bonus with my purchase of 2 Google Home hubs (thank you Best Buy!) and I paired them with the Google Home Hub in 16 simple steps: 1. Plug in your Google Home Device 2. Download and open the Google Home app 3. Set up your Google Home device in the Google Home app 4. Screw in your C by GE light bulb in the same room as your Google Home device 5. Turn on the light 6. Open the Google Home app 7. Select “Add +” 8. Select “Set up device” 9. Select “New Devices” 10. Choose a “home” where you want to control your lights 11. When Google Home finds a device, select “Set up some smart lights” 12. Select the “smart light to set up” 13. When light bulb blinks, select “Set up” 14. Choose the “room” where your lights are located 15. Create a unique name for your smart bulb 16. Select “Next" When light bulb blinks, you’re done! Your light is now connected to Google Home. You can control your light through the Google Home app or by voice with your Google Assistant. Smart lights basically have three controls. 1. on/off 2. dim/brighten (%) 3. Kelvin temperature (2000 = soft white, 7000 = daylight) Once hooked up, you can also use these voice commands to control them. Note: these bulbs are soft white, so Kelvin can't be controlled. Overall they're convenient and nice to have. Would I go out and upfit my entire home with them? Well that would depend on the price. Smart bulbs can range anywhere from 8-80 bucks a pop depending on the type of light and controls. These are your basic indoor lights without Color Temperature control, so I'd place them at the bottom of the price scale. If they're selling for around 5-6 bucks apiece, I'd say they're a decent deal.

      You are absolutely spot on with your very detailed review, thank you! One thing to note is that your setup was if you are using the bulbs without a C by GE on/off smart plug or in-wall switch. If you were to add either of these devices into your setup, you would then be able to use all three of the platforms you mentioned; Google Home, C by GE and Alexa. The setup is a little different in that you would want to set up all the devices in the C by GE App first, then link the service to Google Home and/or enable the skill in the Alexa app. Without the use of a 1st party C by GE hub, you would not be able to use the lights with Alexa.

    So much cheaper than buying the Phillips smart home kit, and works just as well! There are occasional connectivity issues but they are easy to reset!

    Got it at a great price. Works great as a supplement to my lamps that works with Alexa! I'm using the plug to turn on and off a radio via Alexa!

    This product was super easy to install. The lights are fully dimmable even if the lamp isn’t. You can use Alexa or google to turn them on or off or to dim them. You can even name each light so you only turn on one. Our you can turn on a whole room. You can also control the lights from the phone app. It also comes with a wall plug in that works with the smart home.

    The app is almost unusable. I have a Phillips hue/Google home ecosystem, and I bought these to add a couple of extra lights in our nursery. However, the lights were a pain to set up, and the never ended up working properly due to the underdeveloped app. If this is your first smartlight purchase, this may be a good jumping off point, but it was not for me. Same issue with the smart plug and app not correctly working as well.

    We have a google mini down stairs and an Alexa upstairs . If you want to connect the bulbs to the Alexa the plug acts as your bridge so first connect the plug then you can connect the bulbs. For the google mini you can use it without the bridge as long as the blurbs are in the same room as the google mini ! Don’t listen to the other 1 star review all you have to do is read ;)

    I’ve never had smart light bulbs before but these seem to work well. They dim to any level from the app which is nice. I like that you can use them from the app but had connectivity problems for working the lights when out of state. However, they can be set on a timer on the app so can still use them for security reasons.

    These bulbs are awesome! You can add more than one in a fixture and set google names for each one. This will allow you to ask Google to turn them all on or just a certain one. That being said. They are so bright you only need one per fixture. They can be dimmed to your liking or ful brightness. I would suggest pairing with Google all at once not one at a time because it causes a delay. Remember to keep your light switch in the on position or google can't turn them on.

    So the bulbs work perfectly. these are able to be put on dim switches to slowly dim and brighten light, easy to set up. the plug however I was having issues getting them to work properly with voice activation, however It was most likely for a lack of trying, which means to me it's not as plug and play as the bulbs, but it did work remotely with a button on my phone.

    Purchased these to use with our Alexa smart home additions as it advertised being Alexa compatible. Turns out not so much. The hub has issues with the set-up and upgrade so therefore Alexa (even though it can find the light bulbs and add them to a group) cannot control any of their functions without the hub working. The reason I give the 3 stars is because of the inconvenience of purchasing on fasle advertising and the hours of troubleshooting and researching how to get them to work. On their own, just using the C by GE app, they are a very nice product. Very bright and have various options available in the app. Really wish I could have got them to work with Alexa. Will be returning them unfortunately.

You are correct, you do need to use the Smart Plug with the Lights to bridge everything to the Alexa app. Also the bulbs need to stay within Bluetooth range of the Plug to support a reliable connection.     The lights and plug were easy to install and sync with Amazon Echo. I can turn lights on and off via voice, Alexa app or C by GE app. I can also set schedules for lights. Being able to dim lights in fixtures where I previously could not is an added plus. Exactly what I was looking for.

    These bulbs are very good for the price point. I am able to control the lights when I am outside my house when on the same home network and can dim and set specific scenes to have the lights turn on automatically. I like having the ability to use my Google Home Mini's around my home to control the lights and turn on my fan or computer plug when I want so they are not using unnecessary energy throughout the day.
