    On the box this product says “ no hub required” but at the time of installing and connecting it to my Alexa , it was asking for a hub. So frustrating, I bought these because I’m trying to make my house a “smart house” but this is not an option for me.

    These worked great for the first few months but now won't sync with Google Home. I've reset Google and C by GE several times and it won't sync. Works most of the time through the C by GE app but never in Google Home anymore. I have smart devices throughout the house with an Orbi Mesh WiFi network and everything works great except the C by GE lightbulb. It seems to be much better to go with Lutron switches rather than connected bulbs, the switches work flawlessly.

    I like it has a lot of the lightbulbs. I've been using them for a while now and enjoy using them around the house. Should of waited for the deal to come out but for the price I got it was still a good deal for me

    Warning smart lights are addictive

    This package really started my journey to making my house a smart house. The four pack plus the plug really came in handy using it still today every day and have gone into colored bulbs hence the addiction.

    These work on bluetooth not wifi. So Alexa can't control them and they are a little more finacky than wifi controlled. They are much cheaper than the wifi products of GE or others but I would go with wifi control unless you don't have wifi

    The simplicity of the product and automation of home is wonderful idea however I have had a number of issues with losing connectivity and trouble getting back online and synced with Alexa.

    The smart plug and light bulbs work but the app is useless. It works well with google assistant but if you try to control de devices through the app it hardly works since connectivity is by Bluetooth.

    I love that these can be connected to Google home and it's nice that the bulbs can dim without a dimmer switch. It was a little tricky getting them connected but once set up I haven't had any issues.

    The only downside is that they use bluetooth instead of WiFi, I find that I constantly have to refresh the app for them to show up as connected. Other than that they do their job, but at least you don't need to buy a hub to make them work.

    Got these for my boyfriend’s mom and she loves them! Says they work just how she expected with her Google Nest Hub. Also got there the smart plug that goes along with the smart phone set up.

    decent lights for the cost

    They were a little difficult to hook up to app. Finally just did away with their app all together and synced to the google home. Took a few times and a few resets. And finally they were all synced and working with the google home app.

    I think the only difficulty that I had was figuring out the Google part and not the lights.. once I found them in Google partner list it took a couple minutes to download and use them.

    Tried reseting the two that didn't work and still nothing. Tried on-line chat with GE until they drove me nuts with requesting me to do the things I did after watch their videos. They don't want to replace under warranty after two days.

    Replaced the bright 60 watt bulbs on the ceiling lights with this set. You will need the app to control your settings. Good for lamps too! Worth the buy on deal of the day.

    Even if you don't THINK you need it, it really does come in handy. "Hey Google, turn off the lights" "Hey Google, turn on the TV" It's actually pretty nice to have.

    Don't Waste Your Money!

    Worst product I have bought in recent memory. GE states you can connect straight through Google Home App/Mini/Assistant without having to use their hub for most functions. That you can use their App to create scenes and use them in Google Home Routines, while heavily implying in their language that you can do this WITHOUT the hub. Which would make these bulbs a FAR better value for money than most competitors. What they DON'T tell you is: A) There is a limit of 8 bulbs you can direct-connect in this way per Google Home Device you have - and even that limit is not reliable B) Google Hone in fact CANNOT recognize and use Scenes created in the C by GE App without your having the Hub, directly contradicting the implications of their advertising - I won't say they are falsely advertising because the language there is actually pretty grey, but it is definitely past borderline. C) When something goes wrong with these bulbs (not if), you cannot un-pair and delete a single bulb from Google Home in order to reset and fix it. You have to un-pair and reset EVERY SINGLE BULB you connected, then re-pair and re-program each of them D) Each time you un-pair and reset them, they become increasingly unstable and harder to both accurately reset and re-pair with Google Home (not blinking, not found, becoming randomly unavailable far faster after having been finally paired which ends in having to un-pair and reset every single bulb yet again in order to fix). I bought a total of 10 bulbs - 2 Color, 2 Sleep, 6 Soft White. I have had them installed for 5 days - that is less than a week. I have had to un-pair and reset all of them a grand total of 8 times in that time. "Works out of the box" indeed. Just this morning, after thinking I finally had them working, the Sleep bulb in my bedside lamp came on as scheduled in Google home, responded to a voice color setting, and then in the time it took me to brush my teeth became "unfindable" by Google Home. Please try again later. I am returning them asap - tonight if my schedule permits. I did not pay over $100 for this kind of stress and time wasting to keep resetting. It's too bad too. I liked them when they did work. But in this case, I guess you really do get what you pay for. Save yourself and buy Philips or LifeX.
