    Good as lights, but not with GE Smart Switches

    I'll start this review off with what I found good. The lights are quite bright at full power. In a standard light fixture, they are fantastic and are a worthy replacement for incandescent lights. GE's support is fantastic. They helped me try getting my switches/lights set up the way I wanted. They work perfectly with the Caseta by Lutron smart dimmer. No issues there. No flicker, no hassle. Just a smooth dimming from full to off or off to full when I turn the lights off/on. Now, for what I find bad. These bulbs do not work with GE's 3-wire smart switches. Even if it's just a single bulb, the smart switch will not turn on at all. The bulb adapter doesn't solve that either. Incandescent bulbs work fine, and other LED bulbs sorta work. I definitely recommend against these if you are planning to set up GE smart switches. The lighting curve for these, when used in a dimmer, is a little bit steep. What I mean is that the brightness ramps up super fast at the first half of the control, but the brightness doesn't increase very much for the last 50%. I think the bulbs are made to increase their output linearly, which is the downfall here.

    Ok, so at first I was really annoyed because I couldn't connect it with Alexa or Smart Things and it seems like a few others had the same issue. After chatting with the lovely folks at C by GE, I was good to go! Save yourself the headache and time, and do this: -download the C by GE skill in your Alexa app -download the C by GE app on your phone (if you register a login on their website, it won't work. you MUST register via the app) -connect your plug in the C by GE app -connect your bulbs in the C by GE app -enjoy your lights and plug via the GE app or Alexa :) After you add them into the C by GE app, Alexa should automatically recognize the devices. Make sure you set them up by room/group if you have multiple in one location (IE: 2 lights in the backyard) or make sure you name them in a unique way, so you don't confuse Alexa. If you get an error saying the device isn't working, reset both your Alexa and C by GE apps and it should fix itself. Enjoy!

    Relatively easy to set up. I can control with the C by Ge app or my Alexa. I gave it four stars as the light is yellowish. I wasn’t expecting that when I read soft white.

    Simple, Soft White, Smart Bulbs

    Set up was simple through Google Home. Didn't bother with the GE app. Do keep in mind before buying that these are Soft White (2700K) only! They are dimmable, but not adjustable. As long as that's what you're looking for, they're a good buy.

    I purchased these bulbs because they were suppose to be “voice controlled” with Google Home. They are easy to install and work fine using the app. Unfortunately, Google can’t find them!!!! I tried everything. My son tried everything, but neither one of us could get Google to find these bulbs. Since they won’t work with Google, they are going back to the store. Also, if I can’t figure how how to setup something on my own, it isn’t easy setup.

    Less reliable than a candle in a windstorm

    Do you want to spend 30 minutes every day flipping a light switch on and off every few seconds to get them to reset and connect to the internet just so you can toggle the light on and off a few times with an app or alexa/google? If so these lights are for you. They work just a little more often than they fail, but often several times a day they lose connection (even the ones just feet from a router). They are WAY more trouble than they are worth. Skip these and get a smart switch instead.
