The Affetto Espresso is a compact, easy to setup and use machine that produces quality espresso. It has a small footprint that easy fits on my kitchen countertop. Setup is as easy as opening the box, removing tape, cleaning and filling the water bin, adding coffee beans, letting the machine self clean and pressing the appropriate drink button. Your choice of drink is then made in a matter of seconds. An app is available to customize the drink. The app is also used to monitor the machine condition. I have previously had other other espresso machines but they took up too much room or eventually just became a pain in the neck to use. Using the Affetto is a pleasure as it basically only involves the press of a button to make the desired drink. The Affetto is also easy to disassemble to clean and maintain. Other features built in wifi, a milk frother, and the ability to make hot water. I highly recommend the Affetto to anyone looking for a beautiful, compact espresso machine that is convenient to use and produces very good espresso drinks.

It’s not what I was expecting. Is a very cute machine. It looks really nice in the kitchen. He’s just like you don’t have that many options in terms of coffee 

Bought his for my wife in Dec and it has been nothing but frustrating. "Add water"; water is full. Add Water, Add water. We have troubleshooted everything and still Add Water... which by the way doesnt let you make coffee WHEN IT SAYS ADD WATER...

Good product, bad delivery. Arrived on my porch in the box with nothing around it could easily have been stolen. Recommend putting in a more discrete box.

Best purchase ever I use it every day wish I bought it sooner

It’s look 4/5 and has a lot to offer via app. But I tried getting on to app and brew a cup and it never worked. The app crashes Everytime k select a coffee.

Can’t adjust amount of coffee to be grinding, not satisfied

I cannot believe how sophisticated and elegant this device looks on my countertop! Out of the box the unit is very easy to setup and use with minimal instructions required. The unit is actually a bit heavy but feels very well made. As stated, the outside is stunning and will please any surface. Brewing an actual espresso with the Cafe -Affetto is equally seamless and easy. I have always enjoyed espressos whether it be from a local coffee shop or while eating out after dinner at a restaurant. But it wasn’t until I had my first espresso machine that I truly fell in love with this style of coffee. My other unit is a Kcup variant and delivers well but the Cafe - Affetto delivers so much more. First, the ability to steam my milk actually and accurately is the piece de resistance that I didn't even know I needed in my life. Then being able to go to my local store and specially select a certain style of bean to grind. Going further by playing with the size grind via the grind size selector and how it correlates to taste is just a wonderful treat. My favorite part really though is the LED light that illuminates the cup during a pour. GE's "Cafe" brand & offered products is super neat and this device is a unique addition that makes a great espresso.

This is my third brand of an automatic espresso machine, so I think I have a pretty good baseline to draw comparisons from. The Café Affetto by GE is my first one that’s WiFi enabled, and of course, has an app to go with it. It is certainly capable of making a good espresso drink, but the app could have added much richer functionality than it does. PROs • Sleek and modern looking with nice brass colored accents. It’s a conversation starter. • Perhaps its best feature is that it has a small footprint and fits well for limited countertop space. • The coffee is excellent. I found the factory default to be watery. But once I set the grind level to deliver my preferred taste, the espresso drinks are wonderful. • This model has a steam wand, which I prefer versus machines that have their own milk container for frothing. The steam wand gives you more control, and because only water goes thru its tube, there’s less maintenance than the other type. • The box includes a metal pitcher for frothing and steaming milk. And it has measurements engraved on the inside – a nice touch. CONs • Customization through the app is limited to changing grind time and brew volume of the espresso and americano drinks, as well as the volume via the hot water button. You can also select what drink the MyCup button will deliver. But, you cannot control water temperature, power off timer and other useful features. A setting to adjust the idle time before shutting down would be especially useful if your routine is to wait a bit before your next cup. That would mean less waiting for the machine to start up again, and less wasting of the water that’s flushed in the on and off cycles. And because this is a smallish unit, less water wasted also means fewer times having to refill the water tank. • The machine can be tied to only one app account. So different people in the household can’t profile their own settings, which is a real miss in forcing us to use the app. I was hoping that at least the MyCup button would dispense different drinks per an individual’s profile. • Only works on 2.4 Ghz WiFi, no 5 GHz support. • A minor annoyance is when the machine is turned off, the power indicator stays flashing. This makes no sense, the light should simply be off. It’s very confusing the first time you encounter it. In almost any other device, a flashing light indicates activity or an error. • You cannot see the water level or the amount of beans remaining due to the enclosed design. That means there will be times when you start making a drink, only to run into a low water or beans error. It would be nice to see that before you start your drink, the water or beans need refilling. • The steam wand has no bulb or ring at the tip to let you know how deep it’s been inserted into the milk. So you can’t tell when the tip is about to break above the surface, making it difficult to judge the right foam consistency without spraying milk. OTHER • Using the steam wand heats up the entire machine, which will change the taste of the brew. If you’re making multiple drinks, use the steamer after all the drinks have been made first. • No auxiliary spout for pre-ground coffee. Other machines allow you to put pre-ground coffee in a separate compartment for when you want a cup of something different than the beans in the hopper. This is very useful, for example, if you want a cup of decaf late in the day, but the hopper is full of regular beans. This feature may have been a trade-off for the small footprint. If you’re short on counter space and want a decent espresso drink, this machine will do nicely. But given the price of machines like these, you should research features in detail.

So I didn't realize how much I didn't really know about espresso, but the Café - Affetto Espresso Machine has made it easy and fun. Using the app, I am able to dial in presets, or my own customizations. The app will also let you know when the Affetto needs attention, such as needing water or more beans. What I like most is the size. What has kept me away from some other espresso machines is the size. This fits easily under any cabinets. It's easy and small, but comes at quite a cost. If you're paying for espressos on a regular basis, this is a steal. If you need something very small, the Affetto Espresso Machine is perfect.

Don’t waste your money low quality all plastic Coffe is not hot

I absolutely love this machine. It’s not perfect, some bits could be better, but it makes a great tasting cup of coffee in about 2 minutes. The temperature is perfect too. Not too hot that I need to temper it, but just right where I can enjoy it immediately. This has changed my whole morning routine, because I can actually drink it before work instead of needing to wait for it to cool down, which usually doesn’t even happen until I’m at work. I get my caffeine fix a full hour earlier than usual and it even tastes better! It has a hidden compartment to load whole coffee beans and it freshly grinds them before every brew. Every brew! And it doesn’t even have filters to replace. The used coffee grinds drop into a hidden lower compartment that you simply pull out and dump. I also like that there’s a reminder to empty the bin, but it’s big enough to handle about 8 or so brews before needing to empty it. I feel like “practical” was a key design philosophy, because not only does it quickly brew an excellent espresso and americano, it also doesn’t take up too much space. At about the size of… two ps4’s standing side by side, it easily fits on the kitchen counter without taking up too much space. It has a lovely modern matte black finish with an adjustable copper spout. Unfortunately, while the hot water spout/frother works great, for some reason mine rests at a slight angle even when it’s in the straight down position. Not a big deal, but I expect better from a product in the luxury segment. You can use the Smart HQ app to connect to the machine and make small adjustments to the brew volumes, grind times, and program “my cup”, but it offers very few adjustments. I really like the “red eye” brew program, but it won’t let me adjust it at all. I also couldn’t get it to connect with Google Home for some reason. I hope the app gets an update and enables you to do more, but until then, you really don’t need to revisit it after programming your “my cup” recipe. Fortunately, using the machine itself is as simple as pressing a button and listening to it grind and burr away. A most excellent cup of coffee will be ready before you are. I highly, highly recommend the Cafe Affetto Espresso machine!

Everything about this maker says Quality! From first glance and appearance.. to the finished product and a magnificent cup of coffee! With the black finish and copper accents this is a welcomed addition to anyone's kitchen! This definitely isn't your grandpas Mr. Coffee pot. Giving you multiple options on how you want your cup made. With the one touch brew.. Whether you want Americana, Ristretto, Espresso, or just hot water, it's ready in about a minute and a half. The My Cup setting can also be set to one of many different recipes through the SmartHQ app. There's 5 levels of grind size from larger to even finest for what fits your specific taste. The bean holder is said to hold up to 6 ounces. It has a removable water reservoir that goes in and comes out with ease making cleaning a snap. The spout is adjustable for varying cup sizes and for the larger cups you can even remove the drip tray entirely. It looks good in any kitchen, It doesn't take up much counter space being barely over 6 inches in width so works well even in the smaller kitchens. With all of its features you can really get your cup exactly how you want thickness, and taste wise as well. And all the while looks great at the same time. I'd recommend this to others. But be mindful pricewise for a home brewing setup this is on the upper end of the price spectrum.

Gone are the days of having to drive to your nearest fine coffee barista to get that sophisticated espresso freshly brewed. This Café - Affetto Espresso Machine with 20 bars of pressure with a milk frother is all you need! I was nervous upon setting this up as how beautiful and shiny the machine was, but the step by step instructions were simple enough I was up and running in no time! Also connecting to the app was even more simple just a simple visit to the app store and a few steps later was connected. The options are endless with this machine as it grind and makes a perfect roast every time. A few simple button presses is al it takes and you're away getting the freshest and hottest espresso you could want. The frother works really well all you have to do is select the thickness and texture you are wanting and boom it does it. Can I just say how easy the app was when I used it? I was really surprised at how quickly and seamlessly everything talked to each other and proceeded to make everything! It has built in drink customization's in the app which was awesome and felt like I was the barista! If you are looking to spruce up your morning routine or just looking to get someone that special gift, this is that machine you want. My wife loves it, I love it!

I sure wasn't expecting this much from an espresso maker! With a built in bean grinder, milk frother, hot water dispenser, built in wi-fi, and selector for Espresso, Americano, My Cup and and steam, this machine is a beauty both outside and inside! The copper accent makes it look stunning. The machine provides 20 bars of pressure to produce an excellent espresso with ease. Easy to set up and use, I love my new Cafe Affetto Expresso machine!

Although this machine does make a great cup of espresso and americano it is pretty unreliable in terms of maintenance. My machine gets stuck in descale regularly even though I go through the process multiple times and clean according to ge directions. It also forces me to add water and empty waste when it is not necessary. It’s kind of annoying to see the machine shut down with “empty waste” when I’ve literally made 1 or 2 cups. Spending $600 on this machine I would have expected better quality. I have all of the matching major appliances and LOVE them (refrigerator, dishwasher, stove). They are so visually appealing in the matte white and brushed bronze hardware. I receive compliments on my kitchen often! Would love it if this espresso machine worked better!

The Cafe-Affetto is much more than just an espresso machine. It's a kitchen appliance that adds a touch of class to your countertop. The stylish design of stainless, copper, and chrome finishes coordinate well with any kitchen decor. Its compact design takes up very little counter space. Easy to fill and simple to operate, the unit is also easy to disassemble and clean . The only negative in regards to the design would be the location of the water storage. Because of my overhead cabinets, I have to pull the unit forward and turn it to access the tank. The app was easy to load, but after several days I still cannot get the "my cup" feature to change from the default setting; I can change it, but it immediately resets. However, the app is not necessary to brew a great cup of espresso or coffee. Fill the bean storage, press the button, and a few seconds later you have the perfect cup of joe. The froth feature is also a fun addition over your average coffee pot. I'd recommend this one to anybody who likes to make a quick cup any time!

I purchased this for my wife because she loves espresso martinis and it matches our GE Café appliances. Works great and everyone compliments how good the coffee/espresso/cappuccinos are.

I almost completely love this machine. The design is compact and easy to use. The espresso tastes amazing. Easy to use. A start is knocked off because the words on the buttons begin to fade (I can barely read the "steam" button anymore.) And two, the descale light doesn't go off even after carefully descaling. ANYONE THAT CAN TELL ME HOW TO RESET THIS ALERT WILL REALLY MAKE MY DAY!

It’s gorgeous. But I find myself having to replenish the water very often. The milk steamer does this thing where it’ll steam for 3 seconds then I’d have to press it again. That’s after pressing twice before to work. Aesthetically it’s very pleasing. I’m not sure it’s super practical. I think the price is very steep given its capabilities.
