Great shooter all around. Campaign is a must play. If you have played previous Call of Duty games multiplayer is as fun as any other Call of Duty game. Zombies is also a plus. I play a lot of sports games but this is a must have in your game library.

Against ever instinct in my body I bought Black Ops II on its release date. I typically like the production company that creates the Modern Warfare games, but Black Ops has its little niche in the market with Combat Training. So let me first start by saying if you are a hardcore, online rank player, this review is not for you. Although Black Ops II has come leaps and bounds with its own online services, the true rank battles will and still remain in the MMW series. Having said that, BOII is great for the recreational gamer looking to get a taste for online, but still not looking to get lit up the second they spawn by someone who eats, drinks and breathes COD online matches. Which brings me to Combat training.... Combat training was introduced in BOI, allowing an invidual or a party to fight against, or alongside bots online. The greatness of being able to deploy a killstreak (now scorestreaks) in a match without the frustration of ranked players pummeling you, made Black Ops very appealing to the recreational gamer. However, if you found this gaming exciting, the lack of game modes, challenges, etc became very apparent in BOI. Increase the difficult and the AI was not "smarter" just cheap (aka shooting at you before they even see you, or your bullets do little to no damage). The killstreaks were easy to get, but the AI would go Rambo once a care package hit the map. If dominating a map, sometimes the max care packages were only 3 per match (3 for each life, so if you're too good to die....) Little things that made BOI Combat Training pretty stale after awhile. Introduce BOII Combat training. It's like they went into every recreational gamers mind and improved the gameplay. Now all game modes are available on Combat Training, plus a non-party online option which is great for unranked matches. Killstreaks (scorestreaks) are infinitie as they have moved to the Modern Warfare point system. The care packages are now instantaneous, meaning your sentry gun is no longer going to be stolen by the fore-mentioned "Rambo" bots. The maps are fun and nuketown returns. The AI is more intelligent, but not frustrating. Overall a great experience. There are only a few minor annoyances, (bots can't climb fhrough windows without awkward movements) etc. The gun fire rate and accuracy has been improved, but still not as smoothe as MW3. The player perks require limited space, so you have to compromise your online advantages here and there. The campaign is a lot better than the "what the heck is going on" plot of BO!, and yes, zombies have returned. All in all, worth the $60 spot, but careful if you are a hardcore gamer.... but you all ready know that if you are.

OK, first of all this review is OBVIOUSLY entirely my humble HONEST opinion, you can take it with a grain of salt for all I care but, I just wanted to put my two cents in. Also this is coming from an adult gamer and not some screaming 12 year old fanboy. I have every previous COD game going back to the PS2 including the original COD and all the Modern Warfare games etc...and this is one of the more stellar editions in the series. One of the things that stands out most in my mind is the map design. The campaign is one of the most riveting stories of any other COD game to date, albeit you need to follow it very carefully because of the many twists and turns through out the game. It was awesome having the choices you made through out the main story affect the ending to this game, I wont say any more so as to not spoil it for others. Now on to the multiplayer, in my opinion this game has some of the best multiplayer maps of the whole COD/MW series. I really like the variation in elevation in some of the outdoor maps. The new perk system is also refreshing as well, combat training made a return a feature I loved in Black Ops (I get to play MP with my kids without actually being online). . Overall I am very pleased and somewhat surprised at how well this game turned out.

    The players are the problem

This game was all in all one of my favorite cods yet, it still doesnt beat cod4 in my opinion. The game itself isnt bad the main problem with the game is the players. In multiplayer the main problem is the people who feel the need to camp corners and stay in the same spot all game. The lag is a small problem but it is nothing new in my opinion. Zombies was a tad bit of a let down but overall fun, tranzit however is only playable with three or four people. I have yet to play the campaign but in have yet to finish a campaign in any of the cods, its not really my cup of tea. Now ill get into the main problem with the game, the players. This is nothing new to the cod franchise, so i dont really understand why people feel the need to complain about that. The people have ruined every cod since cod4 where it was the people with red dot m16s, then in world at war it was every single person who felt the need to use the mp40, in mw2 it was everyperson who camped with noob tubes, and acr, or an ump45, black op 1 had the people who used the aug and famas which were crazy over powered, and finally in mw3 it was the pp90m01 or whatever it was and mp7 that killed that game. So the people who play the game in that way is nothing new and it will always be there because people feel good about being pro online players. Dont judge the game on the way the people play it, the game in and of itself is great its just the people in the game have to ruin it by being jerks.

most balanced multiplayer. weapons, score streaks, attachments, accessories, perks, etc. love the 10 point system. makes for tons of variations of your class set up. unlike MW3, I see lots of people use a lot of differ guns. score steaks aren't overpowered. campaign is same as the other COD.

Really fun... If you're not lagging

Overall, I really like this game. A lot of people give this game a bad review because of the lag, and I will admit, it can be really laggy. But I think people exaggerate it, because I don't lag very much. The multiplayer has the potential to be the best in the cod series, all it needs is a lag patch. I'm not a big fan of the zombies in this game... Tranzit is really stupid because it's 3 tiny maps connected by long foggy trails, and if you miss the bus, you're forced to go through it, which is suicide. I like the first Black Ops zombies WAY better.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is an amazing game. The campaign story is interesting and you won't want to stop until its done, this time around, Treyarch incorporated moments where the player can make choices that will affect the outcome of the story. Zombies mode is fun and challenging and it makes you want to see how far you can get. My personal best is 23 rounds. I haven't played the multiplayer but I have heard great reviews of this mode.

Felt like playing my old 360. Yes, old, since I now have the xbox one. Popped in some bo2 and had so much fun. Zombies is always a blast and multiplayer is fun. It was a huge improvement over the original Bo and I find it to be much more enjoyable than ghosts, which is good in its own respect. Get this game if you don't have it yet and have been thinking about doing so. You won't regret it one bit!

I have been a diehard COD gamer since World at War, and have always preferred the Treyarch iterations, and with this game they sure did not disappoint! Good single player story line and zombies, but the multiplayer is what most people buy the game for. The guns are balanced, and Treyarch has released 2 patches tweaking the gun balance. The more I play the game the more I love it, and the maps are hands down the best set of maps ever released with a game! If you don't like this game you don't like COD.

    Glitchy Multiplayer

I'm a fan of the Call of Duty Franchise, and usually find myself pre-ordering COD games. Campaign: Activision did a great job with with campaign mode-You can customize a class before each mission, choosing primary and secondary weapons, lethal and tactical equipment (semtex, flashbang, combat axe, etc.) and basic perks. The choices you make during the campaign; missions you complete successfully or fail; will change the storyline dramatically, which gives the game great replay value. The storyline switches between The Cold War (late '80s) and The Second Cold War, which takes place in the future (2025). This gives the game a great dynamic, allowing you to use guns and equipment available during the '80s and 2025 as well. Multiplayer: Multiplayer is well balanced in this installment of the COD franchise. Players are able to build a custom class with two weapons per class, perks, and equipment. Each class is limited to 10 items per class, i.e., you can equip 1 primary weapon with 2 attachments, 1 secondary weapon with 1 attachment, 3 perks, 1 lethal grenade, and 1 tactical grenade. Black Ops 2 brings a new twist to the multiplayer mode with "Wildcards". Three Wildcards can be equipped per class (each taking up 1 space out of the 10 slots given). Wildcards can allow you to equip a fourth perk, an additional lethal grenade, or a primary weapon as your second gun. Guns, equipment, and perks are unlocked with "tokens" given per level up. Black Ops 2 also offers "League Play" games, which give you access to all guns, equipment, and attachments from the get-go. League Play has limited game modes, but I find this much more enjoyable than Public Games. Some equipment is limited in League Play matches, such as under-barrel grenade launchers-so you don't have "Noob Tubers" running around throughout the levels randomly blowing you up, which some might consider aggravating. One thing about the multiplayer experience in Black Ops 2 that I have the displeasure of experiencing twice is a major bug that Activision has yet to fix. If you play online, you should try to avoid playing local matches. Playing a local match can (and most probably will) corrupt your online multiplayer data, which will reset your classes, tokens, player card unlocks, and reset your prestige. Activision does fix this issue if you submit an online form with your information-they say it should take 24 hours, but both times I've faced this issue, I received support after a week. There is one way to avoid this issue-Stay away from playing local matches on your gamertag/xbox. Overall, Black Ops 2 is a great game. Campaign mode has a great replay value, and completing challenges during campaign mode does lead to equipment unlocks to use in the campaign. I find myself playing multiplayer on Xbox Live with friends, so the persistent glitch of classes and player data being reset is a pain in the butt. Zombies mode can be fun, but it is a game mode I don't spend much time playing. I would recommend this game to friends, just with the advice that they should steer clear of local games until Activision does something about the player data reset glitch.

This year Treyarch focused highly on their zombies and multiplayer feature and kind of left the campaign players out to dry, However, it worked. This is Call of Duty is so fun to player for hours on end, It will keep you engaged and it worth a buy.

The franchise has been great so far - will continue to buy them as they come out as the MW games are still king. That said, this one is a ton of fun and really strikes a nice balance between weapons and perks - not too many weapons or combinations that give pros an unstoppable edge over the casual gamer.

I owned the first Black Ops and loved it. The storyline was great and the multiplayer modes were always fun. Zombies was my favorite. Couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. The storyline is one of the best FPS stories I've ever played and the control & graphics are top notch. They even made the Zombie mode more fun. I play almost every evening on XBox Live. I would recommend this game to anyone.

The zombies is pretty fun; however, I don't play it often. The mp is what I play for the most. The maps can be bland at times. However, the pick 10 system is very balanced and I enjoy the system as a whole. However, lag can easily ruin this game at times.

I like how they linked this game and the orignal Black Ops game. I like the original game better, but the sounds in this game are more realilstic. The guns look better and the Campaign is quite a bit harder than MW3. For the price, you'll get a lot of hours out of this game with the multiplayer. Online play can get repetative but I can't wait for the new maps. If you hate the game, don't play it. There are a ton of players online to play against so obviously its a better game than the reviews its getting on here, if you don't compare it to anything. Look at it for what it is... hours of fun gameplay Please don't play this game around young children.

I honestly have no idea how you can give this game a bad review. The people giving bad reviews are probably the same people that have .50 k/d ratios and are horrible at the game. Treyarch has done so much and it really shows. From zombies, hardpoint, to the different campaign endings, this game is awesome.
