The easiest $60 I've spent in a long time.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As great as MW1 was, MW2 builds upon and creates a gaming experience like no other. I played MW1 regularly from the moment I purchased a PS3 in mid 2007 to the time I inserted the MW2 disc. Not a single game that I have ever played was more fun.....until now. Multiplayer action is this game is as crisp as before. Most other FPS, I found the aiming to be the biggest hurdle, but MW1 and now in MW2 the aiming feels effortlessly responsive and true. Frustration comes from poor choices, bad strategy, or just terrible luck - NOT from a poor aiming system. Single player action (so far) has been extremely enjoyable; and like each CoD game, the story is engrossing, dramatic, and at least for MW2, eerily prophetic. My only beef so far with this game is that it seems you can take a lot more hits than in MW1. This could be explained by better armor, but my character can take a huge beating before going down which detracts from the strategy of picking good positions. The sound is phenomenal and engaging and even my multiplayer experience has been very pleasant. Some of the best things about this game are the ability to customize your character to much more advanced degree than in the previous installment. Specifically, the ability to alter kill streak rewards and more accessories to weapons create a new definition to to the word "cool". However, some of the kill streak rewards, in my opinion, offer the user/team too much of an advantage. One in particular is what appears to be a hovering attack helicopter. This thing is diabolical and seems to target me relentlessly for too long a duration. With several of my teammates attacking, it was not destroying or even showed signs of wear. Eventually it left, apparently out of ammo.I have not earned this perk yet so maybe it is sour grapes, but I think the time limit for this advantage should be shortened. Last thing, multiplayer was dropping servers on the first night, but I expect this problem will correct itself in short time. I imagine this game will by a part of my gaming experience for several years.

Not as "Perfect" as CoD4 but Still Very Impressive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There has already been a countless number of reviews for this game, so I'll try to be as brief as possible. CoD4 had a seamlessly perfect campaign. While MW2's was also good, it was not seamless. Multi-player has been improved because of host-migration. New weapon attachments and perks to unlock will keep both casual and hardcore gamers playing for hours on end. I do believe that this game lived up to its hype for its multi-player aspect. It's a very worthy sequel.

Easily my favorite of an already amazing series!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's nothing else I can really add to this that hasn't been said ad nauseum. This game is beyond amazing. I have played "Call of Duty: World at War", "Modern Warfare", and "Modern Warfare 2". Each game was better than the preceding. Modern Warfare 2 was so action-packed and riveting from start to finish. The graphics are out of this world. I could never put this game down. No other PS3 games have kept me glued to my PS3 like the COD series. The only bad/negative part of this game, was the fact that it ended. I was almost devastated when the game ended. I couldn't believe that it. I was like, "This game has to go on... there has to be more". As others have noted, the story in this installment was shorter than others, but it's by now means a reason to pass on this game. I can not wait for "Black Ops". I feel like a kid again waiting to open his presents on Xmas morning. This will be the best $60 you'll ever spend.

MW2 Review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this when it first came out. Figured I would wait until i got to play the whole game to submit my review. The campaign is better than COD4, the online play is awesome. More customization of character than COD4. The boards for the most part are unique and fun. There is one board that is pointless and thats wasteland, but the rest rock (You can go into the plane at the airport and shoot it up from seat 11A). If you liked COD4, this is a must have!

Its going to be amazing! Great job Infinity Ward!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for my PlayStation 3 and it is the BEST First Person Shooter in the world (my cousins who have served in Iraq even think this game is just amazing). I can guarantee this next game is going to be twice as good. I mean, more maps, more guns, more challanges, I wish I could keep typing but then my fingers would break! Can't wait, I'm definetly pre-ordering this game for PlayStation 3, no doubt. Great job Infinity Ward!

almost perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.simply an amazing game. modern warfare 1 was amazing, and this is just as good, if not better. the storyline is a bit weak, but the gameplay more than makes up for it. my favorite part, as it has been for the other COD series games, is the online play. MW2 lets you upgrade your perks, and there's many more attatchments than the first modern warfare. simply amazing

No warfare like Modern Warfare!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.King of Shooters, hands down, (next 2 Black of course, lol.) Action from beginning to end. Although the story mode is short it was a great challenge...more of a challenge than the the first...(in my opinion, at least.) The weapons are absolutely beautiful. Sniper rifles & shotties all day...lol. Enough talk, jus buy the game. P.S. Online review coming soon!

Great Sequel to COD4.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is incredible. way more perks than the first one. The story line is full of twists and turns. There are a lot of characters you have to keep track of. But in the end the only ones that really matter are Capt. Price and Soap. The campaign is again too short. But the "cliff hanger" ending means that there is more to come. cant wait for it.

The best game ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this game it has a good storyline and I love the online play. I have beat the story mode many times and I still love to play it. It never gets boring because you have special ops, story mode, and online play. If I could play this game all day believe me I would so I stongly recommend this game if you love first-person shooters.

great game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is my favorite game i have ever purchased! sure the campaign is a little short, but you can also play a never-ending online mode, or a fast action based black ops mode. either way, it's worth the 60 bucks.

Good game, improvements over MW1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As one would expect from Infinity Ward, this is an excellent game. For those who played COD:MW expect a similar product, but with a few improvements in the online version. For those new to the Call Of Duty series, this is a very realistic first-person shooter set in modern times, with modern weapons. The campaign game is somewhat short (as noted elsewhere), but it will wet your appetite for more. Before playing the online version, newer players would be well advised to play both the campaign game as well as at least part of the Special Ops series. The online game is what makes ths a game worth purchasing. Again, newer players should expect to be "schooled" early on by the old veterans, but expect your learning curve to be high, and before too long you will be blazing away like a seasoned veteran yourself. The only drawback I've noticed is the occasional lags online, as well as the few players who have discovered glitches to cheat their way into higher scores (online). Neither are common, so don't worry about them if you're still undecided about the game. All in all it is a game well worth buying.

GREAT GAME, A MUST BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't expect a 15 hour game this isn't one. I love the new online gamertag style profile for your online character. Totally worth getting this game. I love the online mode more than anything. If you've never played a COD game before get this one, it's much better than World at War and even COD4. I will expect a ton of add-on maps shortly in the PSN Store. I will buy them launch day. This is a great game, the invite method beats cod4's method. They actually got the in game XMB to do alot more work, and it's super easy to invite buddies. I like seeing where they are in Mod war2 before I invite them, if they are in a game I'll wait until they are in the main menu. I really like the way I can MUTE idiots that blast music on their mics BEFORE the game starts a deathmatch or whatever mode I'm playing. I can also see what tags they unlocked, say if someone is a sniper expert they will have a tag that proves they are. Not game of the year because the offline mode sucks, but definitely Online game of the year. ALL my psn buddies have this game, I can understand why, the online mode is freaking awesome.

my .02
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I've only played the offline multiplayer and the co-op modes since where I'm at the internet isn't good enough for online gaming, but here's what I've noticed. I love the co-op mode especially the missions that are throwbacks to MW1 like the Chernobyl mission "All Ghillied Up" which is now a two player mission against enemy snipers and foot patrols. I really love the AI, the enemies move, seek cover and relocate according to what you do. I love the variety of weapons and the "Bling" perk, I wanted to be able to attach two mods to a weapon since I first played MW1, and the ability to customize your kill streak rewards was an unexpected bonus. The only things I found I didn't like are more of an annoyance than a game killer. Like being able to carry only one piece of equipment(i.e. frag, Semtex, claymore, etc). I like the original in that you could carry two claymores and a frag, or three frags; like I said an annoyance. Overall I love the game, I can't wait to get back to the states and play online, I know I'm going to need another tv if my family ever wants to watch anything again.

Online set up is perfect & extremely fast! Addition of Special Ops is great for 2 people. The storyline for the game is very compelling and you feel like you are watching a movie as it all unfolds!!! Most overrated game ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to play a military shooter, go and pick up Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, or maybe Battlefield: Bad Company, but not this. This game was changed from what it once was to what it is now- which is an unrealistic and pathetic attempt at a realistic military video game. All of the guns are the same. Sniping is pointless because all of the sniper rifles usually take two shots to kill (even the .50 cal.). Every one online camps in random buildings and corners which forces you to play like they do- or else you'll win up with 2 kills and 10+ deaths. If you decide you want to play single I purchased this game, then sold it within a week. It is the biggest bust of the decade, and possibly all time. The campaign is less than five hours- and really has no depth what so ever (much like the first). Save yourself some time, money, and gray hairs. Buy something else. Games that you should buy instead of this pathetic excuse for a game: Assassin's Creed 1 (greatest hit) and 2 Uncharted 1 (greatest hit) and 2 Infamous Prototype MAG (when it releases in a few weeks) Battlefield: Bad Company SOCOM Confrontation

Looks Good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game will be addicting just like COD4 but the graphics arent a big improvement. the detail in the multiplayer maps looks just like the first which werent bad but were 2 years ago. Don't expect Killzone 2 graphics but it should be a overall good game just like COD4. The one great improvement is the amounts of guns... which is just plain infinity ward at their best.

Great first-person shooter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great overall package, but I feel the game play is too advanced on easier settings. The storyline is cryptic and exciting at the same time, leaving the player guessing what role he/she will be playing from one scene to the next. The graphics are super smooth and the cpu is very agile and intelligent. Lots of practice in the shooting ranges will be a prerequisite.

Best game so far!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you haven't played Call of Duty before, I suggest going to story mode and playing that first, this way you can get to play with the controllers and get a feel of the game. once you've done that, and feel comfortable, try out the online version, it's pretty fun and exciting.
