I am pretty disappointed in this year’s CoD. It feels like 2/3rds of last years game, missing zombies and battle royale and replacing with a short single player campaign. The cross platform addition is amazing, but the chat client in game sounds horrendous. I’ve heard better chat quality from 1980s walkie talkies. Its very hollow sounding and has a very small dynamic range. Fortnite’s game chat is multitudes better. Unto gameplay, the gameplay itself is pretty good, but the map design is so bad. It’s a race to whoever can push the team back to the “bad spawn” (there’s at least one on every map), then it’s just spawn killing for a while until the spawns eventually flip with usually 30 seconds left in the game. This isn’t a one off issue, as it happens nearly every game and I’ve been on both the giving and receiving end. Speaking of maps, there are some that are just way to big for even 10 vs 10. Palace in particular is so big, there are ATVs to drive around. It feels like this map was meant for around 40 players. So, yes I still purchased CoD and am still playing because of my friends, but once they’re done it’s over and this game will be traded in.

Back to the roots, modern warfare is updated, fun and a solid story.
