Which might be the point I guess, you’d rather have a bad person bail out than rob you, but that still seems very counter-intuitive.

That function only works if you subscribe to the system, it is not free. I then returned it.

Save yourself half the money and a get this better product. Just my opinion.

It picks up movement before it sppears on the camera. The day and nightine view of the camera are very clear and good. Very good camera for the price.
