The thing about ink is you decide what ink you will purchase when you buy your printer. Our all-in-one printer scenner was ideal for several years, but stopped scanning altogether a while back. When you are buying a printer my advice is to look at reviews of ink for that printer. The ink we purchased works fine, but seems to run out very quickly.

The colors are great but these are still too pricey

I like the ink, I always get good results and the cartridges last quite a while, considering how small they are. My only complaint is that the cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges are not sold separately. If you run out of one you have to buy the 4 pack. Not good.

My wife requests that I buy Canon ink cartridges even though it's quite a bit more expensive. We have bought discount ink cartridges in the past but the color quality is not acceptable. That's it. Am a bargain hunter but bargains don't seem to work with ink cartridges for our Canon printer. Good luck.
