First time Canon printer ink replacement

The Ap was a pain to start up on my iPhone compared to the HP air ap. But it works better abs faster and has special heating element to keep the heads from clogging ( my reason for new printer). The only draw back is if one of the black is empty it will not print

I only use OEM ink

While there are aftermarket ink cartridges, I only use genuine OEM cartridges to avoid problems. I prever the Canon XL type, but these are fine since I usually do not have a high output.
