    The ink always stays dark until the day it runs out. I dont have to deal with 1 week of dark, three weeks of medium and a month of light. I get 2 months of dark.

    I think the combo pack is a good deal & they come with photo prints. However, if you really want to save money & maximize your ink, I would check out Sophia's Global Ink on Amazon. There a few set backs, but the price is nearly half of any retailer including Best Buy.

    Canon high yield YL printer ink lasts quite a while and Beat Buy had a good price and I had reward points making the price even better!
