Based on price alone, the Canon Color imageClass MF628Cw ($249) is an obvious candidate if you need a color laser multifunction printer (MFP) for your micro office or for personal use and want one that can print, scan, copy, and fax. It's a little larger than most MFPs aimed primarily at micro offices, which may force you to look elsewhere if space is tight. But if you have enough room in your office, it can be worth a look.

I received it promptly and was delivered in excellent condition. It is quite heavy, and it is best handled by two people. The installation was easy if you follow the installation guide carefully. I have an iMac computer, and the disc with the software is for a PC. The Canon USA website allows you to download the software for the MAC and the installation of the software was easy. Connecting to my network was as simple as it can get. It was all automatic. I was blown away by the print quality and found the speed of sending files and printing faster than my Brother laser printer had been.It is relatively quiet and straightforward to use. The scanning software is easy to use and the scanning accurate. I haven't tried to print envelopes as yet, but my Brother printer always wrinkled the corner of the containers. I downloaded the printer manually, and it is quite extensive, so I just keep it as a file.I did have to contact Canon Support regarding a warranty card as it was not included in the package (the warranty is three years) so they registered the printer with the phone call. One word of warning, when I googled Canon support, many sites have listed that sound like they are part of Canon. They want to charge for their service. Make sure you go to Canon USA site for downloads or help.

This printer is fast, quiet and easy to use. Great quality on the prints and have not had any paper jams. The only thing it is lacking, and I understand this is a printer first and a copier second, but it lacks some very useful and daily used copying features others have. If you do lots of double sided copying this is not the one for you.

Excellent printer. No issues whatsoever. Great quality, fast wireless printer from anywhere in the house.
Installing in any of the windows machines with the CD was very easy. For the machines that did not have a cd reader and for the mac, it was a little harder. There are multiple pieces of software that are needed and they are marked as optional in the canon website.. you do need them all to have all the functions work properly. Canon could do a better job of packaging the software in the website in the same way it is packaged in the cd that comes with the printer. But the printer itself is AWESOME

In the past I have purchased several inkjet printers. They have worked well so long as you use them on a regular basis. The reason I bought this Color Laser printer is that in an inkjet printer the ink dries out if not used. I now have 4 laser printers (2 monochrome and 2 Color). This one being the latest. The oldest monochrome printer is an old Brother model 1440. ALL of these printers have the ability to print after not being used for some time. The 1440 was not used for about 2 years and still printed when I started using it again. Both of the color lasers are Canons. One is a MF624Cw, the other is this new MF632Cdw. Both of these machines are Print, Scan, and Copy types. Neither has Fax. Canon does make this same machine with a fax. Sorry I do not know the model numbers. There are some good points and some bad points to these machines. The good points are (among others) the ability to print after long periods of non use. The prints are wonderful. The machine seems to be reliable. It has a touch screen that will walk you through most operations and has a built in user guide. Plus other things. The "Bad" things are that neither machine is light. The 624 is 50 some LBS. The 632 is a little liter but not much. Both machines use toner cartridges that are not as cheap as inkjet to replace BUT last a LOT longer. The laser printers are somewhat more expensive to buy at first but are cheaper in the long run IF you do not print a lot.

After having faulty product easily replaced through my Geek squad policy (Canon was also willing to do a UPS exchange!), I have found this printer to be easy to use, accurate, and even comes with full toner cartridges, not partial, 'get started' ones, almost worth the cost of the printer alone, especially when on sale! Connecting to my WiFi and laptop were not difficult. Although customer service at Canon can be time consuming to contact, they are very helpful once connected to their call center, with living, breathing technicians!

Its larger than most but its great. Quiet and easy to use. We have in home office. We print from laptops and phones wirelessly. The canon help line is great and free and usa based and they fix everything. Ive used twice during setup and fixed in 5 mins or less. For the price its great. Quality is good of prints and the big touch screen i love.

Printer works great. Love the ease of printing via laptop, surface and mobile all wirelessly via WiFi. Was easy to setup and get going and performs very well. Most printers are a bit noisy so one thing I would change if I could is make it a little quieter but it no worse than any other printer I have used. Prints great quality color or not. Double sided printing is a breeze, scanning, copy etc all great. Yes I would recommend this printer.

I was tired of the bad print quality I had been getting from ink jets and wanted to switch to laser, since I heard they make better prints. Read a lot of reviews, and this one fit the bill. When I saw the great sale Best Buy had on it, I purchased it. Very happy... setup was a breeze and it works wonderfully so far... no complaints.

The color quality was better than expected. Printing is fast. Setup was pretty intuitive, despite having to muddle through some on-screen menus to setup wireless network. Seems great for home use. Whole family appreciates it. The replacement toner, however is very expensive (we hope we do not need to buy some for a long time! :-) )

We were looking to replace our old, often unreliable, ink jet printer with a new affordable and reliable printer for our home. This Canon color laser printer meets and exceeds our needs. We could have made due with another, initially cheaper ink jet printer. But considering our use patterns and the frequent ink wasting head cleanings, a laser printer turns out to be more cost effective in the long run since toner does not dry out or clog like ink can. We've always had a good experience with Canon printers, so when Best Buy had this model on sale, we grabbed one. The setup was easy and we've had no problems at all. Yes it's a little more expensive out of the gate, but we love the quality of laser and reliability of Canon. Everyone's happy!

You would think that hooking this printer up to a Mac would be a breeze, just plug and play. NOT SO!
Following the instructions, I downloaded Mac drivers and then attached a USB cable (that doesn't come with the printer). The printer/scanner did not work.
First time I called Canon tech support, and after a lengthy phone call I was advised to return the printer.
After thinking about this overnight I decided to hook up the printer wirelessly. The printer would print wirelessly but the scanner would not scan wirelessly. The scanner would only scan when plugged in using the USB but it would not print when plugged in using USB.
Second time I called tech support, and after a lengthy phone call I was advised to plug the printer in via USB cable when I needed to scan and unplug it when I needed to print to which I responded I would just return the printer back to Bestbuy. I said to tech support that I found on the CANON support page that a Firmware update was available but was told that it probably wasn't necessary. But the thought of returning this heavy printer was something I didn't relish. I was told to download the firmware update to my computer but it wouldn't upload it to the printer because it couldn't connect to the computer. Tech support was out of ideas. I downloaded the firmware update right to the printer using the display pad on the printer. Once it was downloaded the printer worked better, but I was still having problems.
Third time I called tech support, and after a lengthy phone call, all the bugs were worked out and the printer and scanner worked – for two computers. One computer is wired and the other is wireless.
Do yourself a favor if you buy this printer: first) follow the instructions to hook this printer up wirelessly; second) download the firmware update using the display on the printer. The printer will do all the work of updating; third) download the Mac drivers; fourth) decide if you want the printer to be wirelessly connected or want it to be wired. The benefit of being wired is that whatever you scan or print it is secure. Nothing is being transmitted over the airwaves. Or, as in my case, two computers are using this printer/scanner, and you can attach the different computers however you want.
I wish I knew all this before spending many hours on the phone with tech support. I could have saved myself a lot of time and aggravation. This printer is a fine printer and I would recommend it...even after all this.

My First Experience With Laser Printers

After some extensive research into laser printers after using inkjet printers for years, my purchase of this Canon lived up well beyond my expectations. Struggled over many models and companies but Canon did not let me down and the guys at Best Buy were very helpful in determining what would be the right choice for me. Heavy unit, almost threw my back out lifting this thing, but setup was fairly simple and quick, instructions could have been a little better but got through it okay hooked up direct via USB - faster too. So far very pleased, you can spend a lot more and get more upscale models but this MF632Cdw lived up to what I hoped it would do, and more. Would highly recommend.

Best price out there for a color laser, scanner, copier. My husband works on the road and it's great for lengthy expense reports to his corporate office. Works great for me too as I telework. We like the fact that the reusables are reasonably priced too, unlike some of the other brands.

This copier is great. I've only ever had HP photo printers. This is a big change, but worth it. HP overthinks everything. This is simple and makes great copies quickly. It is quiet and efficient. It was simple to register and set up my online account as well.
