A daily struggle
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quite possibly the most infuriating printer we've owned. It's going back. Out of the box, we have the error code telling us that a non-genuine toner cartridge was installed. Printer won't work until we power down and up a few times. Why we get this error with the manufacturer provided toner is a mystery. The Home button on the "touch" screen panel is the most infuriating button ever produced. It simply does not want to react to repeated touches or pokes. With this issue, in a home office setting you will waste too much time making a copy and then trying to make a scan. You'll repeatedly press the Home button, raising your tension level until it finally reacts. Waste of time and we don't need this added tension in our lives. Scanning is the worst. Within two days all scans have clear evenly spaced lines going through the scans, making them unreadable. This bug is not repeatable and there is no clear fix. We've powered up and down and left it on for hours at a time. It decides to fix itself, then the problem will come back a day later. Simple printing is okay. There are a lot of loud carriage clicks when printing. Can't get used to it. We liked this printer because of the ability to front load envelopes. Too bad. It's going back. Also too bad that Best Buy does not stock the HP - LaserJet Pro MFP m477fdw in stores. We had to order for delivery. When this one arrives, the junk Canon is going back.

Will never go back to Inkjet Printers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer not out of necessity but rather my desire to stop hemorrhaging money on ink every other month for my HP 7525 Inkjet. I'm not a die hard printer user but when I would print, it felt like I would get 30 prints out of a cartridge before I had to buy more Ink. Came across the MF733Cdw when browsing for a replacement and couldn't pass up the $309 sale price. PROS: - Great print quality- was concerned about images as laser printers are more about efficiency and bulk text print but images from our Canon G7X Mark ii come out pretty clear) - SPEED. This beast spits out color/black & white prints in seconds. Even if it hasn't been used for a few days, the warm-up time is almost nonexistent and reacts quick. - Two-sided scanning / printing. I don't scan many documents but through a few tests, the scan quality and accuracy is spot on. - Ease of use. The LCD menu is super easy to use and responsive. Setup was a breeze- after following basic prompts and setting up WIFI, I was ready to print. My girlfriends Mac was able to discover the printer and use without even installing any drivers/software. Setting up to print from my android phone was also as simple as downloading an app. CONS: - Size. I don't really have many bad things to say about this unit however the size is comically massive- especially for a home office printer. With this printer being 50+ lbs, if you don't want to set your printer on the floor- you'll want to consider a separate super sturdy stand. Even though I was chastised by friends and family for spending $300+ on a printer, let alone in 2017- I have no regrets. I've printed 40+ sheets of color/black & white in the past month and the toner level is still at 100%. That piece of mind is exactly what I was after and received.

unimpressed

This is the ONE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking for the "all in one" printer with the following functions: scan documents using the automatic document feeder (ADF) to USB device; laser printer; and that doesn't have to be connected to a computer to do print/scan jobs. I already have a wireless stand alone monochorme laser printer and an old inkjet printer with a flatbed scanner. Scanning with my old scanner was always a slow and "one page at a time" tedious job. I found out about the Canon MF733Cdw through Best Buy's weekly ad. I was really attracted to all the features (and price when on sale) on this All in One Printer. I was debating between the Canon MF733Cdw AND the Canon MF634Cdw models. Both the models are similar except their toner capacity and print yield (and size/dimensions of the printer). I chose the MF733Cdw because the Black toner cartridge in it (#046) is rated for printing 2,200 sheets (vs 1400 sheets for MF634Cdw model). MF733Cdw model has been very user friendly- the touch screen menu has several options for the print/scan/copy functions. (I have not used the fax option). You can connect your flash drive (USB) and use the touch screen menu to print your files from your flash drive, scan a document-save the scanned files on your flash drive. There is no need for it to be connected to a computer. The wireless option is very handy (Air print, NFC, Google Cloud Print, etc.). This printer was easy to connect to the wireless. This printer does good quality scanning (double sided at once). This printer is heavy and is huge. It goes to sleep mode when not it use (of course, you can change the sleep settings) and it has no issue waking up when document is sent for printing via wireless. The installation of printer driver and scanner software from the provided CD was easy. Canon's 3 years limited warranty is a plus as well........ With its functions, capacity and technology- this printer should last for years to come!!

Canon Laser Printer - a mind of its own
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Less than happy with this printer; settings are very difficult to change. Lately, for no reason at all, it's been printing out a report page at the end of every job. Nothing I do stops it from printing out this unnecessary page. Also seems to go through the black toner fairly quickly.

Big frustation
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since day 1 I am having trouble with this printer. Wifi connectivity is not reliable, printing quality very poor, most of the times black letters will print light grey making sometime almost impossible for you to read what was printed. Not mentioning for the noise when printing.

Great all-in-one laser printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a all-in-one LASER printer to replace all my previous inkjet printers because I got tired of dealing with ink that could smear when when highlighting... or dealing with the clogging of the inkjet head after a few years of (infrequent) use. With the Black Friday 2017 sales at $279.99 + tax, I picked up this MF733Cdw printer and couldn't be happier with it. Initially, I was tempted by the smaller model MF632Cdw but with the Black Friday sale, the MF733Cdw was cheaper than the MF632Cdw and had better features that may or may not be important to you: - 2-side (duplex) scanning from feeder - Fax (even though I would probably never use it) - NFC - Faster printing speed (up to 28 ppm vs 19 ppm) - larger cassette capacity (250 vs 150 sheets) - Toner yield is higher on the MF733Cdw than the MF632Cdw (Black 2200 vs 1300 pgs, Color 2300 vs 1300 pgs) What I like about the printer so far: - Can do mobile print from anywhere, even outside the home, through Google Cloud Print or Apple Airprint - was easy to setup through my wireless network - Boots up quickly - Prints quickly - Printing quality is definitely better than your average inkjet - prints/scan with full auto-duplex from the feeder (very convenient) - Scan to an email (like I do at work) - works with both my PC and Mac - 3 year warranty (just in case) Things I wish I knew before I bought: - can't rename file from the printer’s menu when scanning to email. It gives default file name - This printer is BIG: make sure you have enough space for it in your office - Package box is ALSO BIG: it didn't fit in my 1998 Lexus E300 Sedan. I had to take it out of the box to put it in my car - Scan to email setup is not easy if you are not a little bit computer savvy. You need to know the SMTP and security/port settings for it to work Overall, I’ve really enjoyed this printer. I’m not sure how it compares to HP but I like that this Canon is a recent 2017 model with the latest and greatest features! :)

ONE ISSUE AFTER ANOTHER
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first installation there were several connection errors manifest in inability to communicate or locate device. After several patch and firmware downloads the MF733CDW became operable. Over the past year and a half I have had many issues with scanning communications and lately the scanner feeder would not send yet the scan could be performed via the copy glass bed. The last straw was not being able to use the Cannon Utility even after completely deleting and then reinstalling including all of the updates. Several hours spent troubleshooting. I am replacing with another brand.

Only if you NEVER scan over 50 pages at a time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you ever need to scan more than 50 pages and save as one big document, buy another printer. There is no "add a page" feature. Had I know this, I would have purchased a different printer. Now I have to use an old HP when scanning because it would be completely unprofessional to have to send a client a pdf with part 1, part 2, part 3 instead of one large pdf document.

Black specs up and down paper
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer leaves black specs up and down the left side of paper. I went on the Cannon website saw where other People had this same type of problem. I have done all of the Maintenance cleaning that were suggested. If the specs were not there it would a good device. But the printing is why You have a printer and these specs are not acceptable for documents or any type of printing.

Full featured printer for great price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been looking for a color laser printer/scanner/copier with auto-duplex and wireless capabilities for about 8 months. I had my eye on an HP for a while, but reviews were not ideal. I took my chances on this one while it was on sale for $310, and I have been nothing but impressed. The device itself is large, but considering what it can do, it is not that big. I've printed and scanned to pdf to a shared folder on my network successfully. I love this thing and will report back with how the other features work when I use them. Highly recommend.

here it is just out of warranty DEAD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So it worked fine and then it didn't. PLUS you can only use CANON brand cartridges or you will have grief. Don't spend a lot of money-buy cheap and throw it out. So angry and canon is the "best" of the bunch. Why do they always go bad the minute it is out of warranty.
