Terrific laser printer for the money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After years of "ink bleeding" from our ink jet printers, we finally decided to get a color laser printer. LOVE this printer. Went from box to printing from three different computers in about 15 minutes (we own Macs). It scans, copies, it's wireless, does double-sided printing...we did a lot of research and actually returned one printer (didn't scan or copy) before we settled upon this one. So far, it's perfect.

Defective toner cartridges
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased for a small nonprofit because we have outgrown our inkjet. Most of our printing is black text but occasionally we produce newsletters etc with our color logo. Basic copying/printing setup with Wi-Fi was easy. Had to call tech support to get the scan-to-email set up (way more complicated than our HP); we never did get send email to the printer to work (the tech dismissed me when I asked by saying I wouldn't like it-what?). Loved the speed, loved the quality of the printouts, loved that I could put a stack of double-sided documents in the ADF and it would automatically scan both sides, loved the larger capacity paper tray. Fax send and receive via a Google Voice number worked great. I tried all features except the usb print. Not Google Cloud-ready as Canon claims but can still be set up to work with it as I did with several Gmail accounts. Tech support was easy to contact and hold time minimal (I contacted them 4 different times.) About a month after purchase (and after 2 reams of mostly black printing) magenta streaks began appearing on my printouts, followed soon after by nearly solid magenta covering the paper. Tech support determined that the cartridge was defective and overnighted a new one. Toner consumption was at 50% black used, 10% colors. After changing it out the magenta went away, but now solid black thick lines appeared. Tech support decided my black cartridge was also defective. At this point I returned the printer. Either the cartridges are not reliable or the printer is defective.

No U.S. LETTER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No United States letter paper setting but an A4 which is an international setting, so if you print both sides the paper isn't long enough so your printing is all messed up. So just buy A4 paper? Well A4 paper is 2 to 3 times the price. I think I won't be buying another CONON OR RECOMMEND A CANON PRINTER. WHY SELL SUCH AN ITEM IN THE UNITED STATES?!!!!

piece of junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer less than 2 weeks ago. I have already spent hours on the phone with tech help and had to re-installed the drivers multiple times. This printer is total JUNK. DO NOT BUY THIS POORLY SUPPORTED, LOW QUALITY, NON PRINTER. The connection is fine from the printer to the router, and from the laptops to the router, but the printer is 'offline'. reinstall the whole driver set and it will work for the evening, the next day, 'poof' it doesn't work again. If you love spend all time calling tech support, waiting on hold and they getting solutions that don't work this the printer for you. Otherwise, If your time is worthy $0.10 an hour, your can't afford to buy this unreliable junk. it would be quicker to just use a chisel and hammer and carve your printing needs into stone. Seriously, I buy a lot of tech products and this the worst item I have ever purchased. Best Buy should not stock such junk. BTW- if it were a choice, I would give it negative stars. This thing does not deserve one star.

Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know that somewhere inside this plastic shell is a decent printer, but unfortunately every time I have to print something I have to initialize all settings and reconnect to the internet. Yes, I've called customer service, which has been a complete joke. At one point I was redirected to China and a guy who wanted to log into my computer. If it worked correctly all the time I'd give this machine a glowing review, but if you bought a Ferrari and it only started once a week, it would be hard to give it a thumbs up.
