I see why it's called the 'Nifty 50'!

Fixed lenses are the way to go if you want dramatic shots, in my opinion. This lens is affordable and allows me to practice all my newly learned techniques with immediate results - great photos! I am really enjoying this "nifty 50" - I think it is a basic staple for anyone with a compatible DSLR. (My camera is the Canon EOS Rebel T3i).

Great lens for close up shots

It has defenetly been one of my favorite lenses to shoot close up shots of people and small items. I would really recommend this item.

FAST SHARP LENS

On a crop sensor camera makes a nice portrait lens- about 80mm. My only negative is the plastic mount, but the price is right. Flash pictures came out sharp with good color.

Great beginner lens!

Although it feels very light weight and toyish, the quality of the image is still spectacular once you get the hang of it and it is extremely easy to use. I love it and it's capabilities--especially for the price!
