I have wanted to play around with a prime lens for a while and for under 150 bucks this I couldn't pass up. With the 1.8f you can get some great bokeh

It's a great nifty 50 to have. Large enough aperture and has great image quality on my 6D but it's cheap feeling. I'd personally get the 50 1.4 because of the manual focus ring but I got this in the mean time while I was saving for the 1.4.

Lens is inexpensive n great ..I broke my last one but It is okay cause it's not too much money n also works great like any expensive lens ..

This lens is very light as what I expected it to be. I will be purchasing the prime 50mm 1.4 from canon to compare. If you are on a budget or just starting out this lens will suffice. I use the lens for up close portrait type shots.

It was exactly what I was looking for. It is easy to set up and to use. The price is also very good. It helps me to capture perfect pictures.

Needed a lens in a pinch and this was a great value lens to buy. Also great way to ween yourself off of the multi focal length lens so that you need to think more about composition before shooting.

Got this for portrait photos great for bokea effect. Lens feels like cheap plastic but it will get the job done. Just wish it was made better. Of course Best buy put on sale after my return day so I missed the sale that I waited for ever for.

I almost threw my cannon camera away because for years I thought it took horrible photos. Turns out it was just the kit lens that came with the camera that was causing all my problems. Not anymore. This lens takes absolutely amazing photos.

I am used to larger lenses for my normal outdoor pictures, however, I needed something better for my indoor pictures of people. I needed no extra light to shoot and was much easier to take pictures.

Great lens, sharp, light, simple. Only downside is that the mount is plastic, but for $125 no complaints.

This is an outstanding lens for the price. Image stabilization is a feature I wish it had. I like that it is so light weight because that makes hand held shooting easier and lugging around the camera less work. It is a little noisy, but you really don't notice, especially when your primary subject is a toddler who is already making a racket. Don't debate about, just get one of these lens and start taking better portraits.
