This lens is the one you want for up close portraits, takes beautiful picture and very clear. It is what I have named up close and personal..

I bought this as a gift for someone and he loved it. No complaints about it. Takes decent pics.

I love how close-ups look with this. It's not ESSENTIAL since you can get good results with the kit lens, but it's definitely a VERY nice touch for adding shallow depth of field as well.

Can't say enough about this little gem! Loved it from day one. Always a good source of inspiration when you want to experiment and get creative.

This is the basic level for the "nifty fifty" lenses but it teachers beginners a lot about the advantages of aperture and how to see things differently with the non zoom lens.

loved it. great lrice of $125 and i had $15 in points so it was almost $125 after taxes also. love the lo f stop of 1.8. great for wedding shots. the bokeh created is amazing.

Its a great lense if youru just starting out, and you want to get that cool blurred background, most beginners wont notice the loud focus, or the cheap plastic attachment to the camera. The 1.8 apature gives good bocha. For the price you cant beat the images it helps you create.

I have the Canon Rebel T4i and love my 50mm lens! Very clear and crisp and has good amount of view. And I love the price too! Highly recommend as a good starter lens.

It will serve the purpose for family indoor photos. As it is not pricey, I will take a wait and see before buying a 50mm 1.4.

This is a great entry level lens upgrade. It is far superior to the kit lens that comes with your camera. Image quality is very sharp for such an affordable lens.

Rather then buying a kit lens went with this prime lens and a wide angle L lens. Couldn't be happier with this lens for the price. Super fast and sharp, highly recommend

I am expanding my picture taking and hope to turn it into a part time business. This has been a great addition and I have already used it and had great pictures with it.

I purchased this lens because I needed that nice creamy background blur for a newborn session. At the time I didn't have the money for 1.4. I have used the 1.4 and it is much better than the 1.8. I don't like that it's plastic and doesn't feel durable at all.

There are other more expensive 50 mm lenses but you simply cannot go wrong with this one, the price is right and you can still generate a nice depth of field.

I would highly recommended this lens. My daughter has had her camera for one year and we bought this as an additional option for her photo shoots...she loves it!

This is a must for any photographer. Great lens for beginners, easy to use, soaks up the light, and bokeh is solid.

I got this lens when I purchased the body of the Canon 60D. The photo quality is incredible. The details are so clean and crisp. It's a great lens for the price!
