I've always been a fan of 50mm lenses and for the price you can't definitely beat this one.

This is a great lens, very clear pictures. I use it for the majority of my portraits. I think this should be a new photographers first lens upgrade form the kit lens especially because of the price! Gives a wonderful look to the background and you can do a lot of artistic shots!

Great 50mm starter lens for photographers looking to get sharp, excellent quality portraits.

I love this lens. It makes you think about the shots you want to take for the right focus. It's a lot faster than the stock lens. It takes really good portrait shots, and it also fades out the background when shooting specific objects. It's small and lite weight too which is a plus!

Bought this as a gift. She has loved it and used it the day she got it shooting a wedding.

i grabbed this little nifty 50 up for my Canon t3i and I love it. It is the lowest cost 50mm lens Canon offers and there is a reason for that. The housing is made completely out of plastic. It feels like if you were to drop this from a few feet away it would be the end of it. That being said I wold hope you wouldn't make a habit of dropping any lenses. I found the lens was better when I used manual focus and the view finder. If you are recording video I think this is a must do to how loud the auto focus is on some of the lenses. I was able to get some real nice shots with this right out of the box but another warning give yourself some room. It i basically an extension of your eye no zooming in or out on these. Enough of my rambling. GO BUY IT!

This lens is great for portraits. I love the DOF it has. Never worked with something like this before, it takes some getting use to but its so crispy and clean

Used this lens with my T3i for portraiture and automotive photos; the bokeh and depth of field are very good for a lens this price. I have have stopped using the 18-55 that came with the camera and am using just this 50mm for all of my short range shots. Love it.

Great lens over all! Got it on sale so I was very happy that I waited ! I gotta say it a great lens ! Once u get pass it's a little slow but if u want a SHARP walk around lens ! Can be a fifthy fifthy ! Since I purchased it been on my camera almost a month !
