It's great because is very wide. But the diaphragm is 4.5 which is not good for low light

This is supposed to be wide lense, but I didn't find it to be quite the lense it was supposed to be. Look other places.

Hard to focus in the dark. No sound of focusing so you don't know if you lost focus in the dark. I think I need to shoot more shots with it. before I talk to bad about it. So far it's ok.

Extra wide but lack of picture focus is too much... Not at all what I was expecting. Could have saved towards a better lens

The wide angle gives you an excellent perspective in to the images, the images are pretty sharp. This STM lens is unbeatable in video recording. You can almost make professional quality movies with the auto focusing feature. The price is very reasonable. This is one more great product from Canon.

I ordered this lens in efforts to get 4K resolution with less cropping. While I was able to lessen the cropping the quality isn’t great. It’s very grainy and hard to edit in post.

The EF-S 10-18mm does not disappoint

First and foremost this is not a Canon “L” lens,, but it doesn’t cost $1800 either. If you understand the limitations of this lens and use it accordingly., this lens will not disappoint. Actually it’s pretty darn good an well worth the money and you get a lot of bang for your buck with this wide angle lens. Yes it has some barrel distortion at 10mm, but easily correctable in Adobe Lightroom. Stopped down a lil bit this lens is very sharp. Color & contrast is satisfactory and can easily be pushed up in post processing. Also, this is not a low light lens, don’t expect to stop action in a dim room with out a flash. With that said, I’m not afraid to shoot at high ISO’s either. I would rather have a lil noise in my image than not get the shot at all. I highly recommend this lens for landscapes or real estate photography.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Will NOT focus to infinity for night photography.... I have had multiple professionals attempt to get the lens to focus (thought is was user error at first).

This lens is almost good for nothing. Many other lenses out there that are far better for the price.

    Very affordable wide angle lens

I've had this lens for a week now and am confident to say that it is an absolutely great lens for what you are paying. Let me first start by saying that do not get this lens expecting the most durable, weather-resistant lens. It is not. It is made entirely of durable plastic, and plastic mount. So I definitely do not recommend it for landscape shooting inclement weather, but for nice weather (like Los Angeles all year round) or indoor photography, this is a great lens to consider. The focus ring doesn't have any stops, but I didn't really find it to be that big of an issue. While this lens may be a bargain in price, it's no slouch with image quality and performance. While the F-stop only opens up to 4.5 at 18mm and 5.6 at 10mm, I didnt not find it to be an issue during most times of the day. For night shooting, it may be limited but a tripod and remote trigger/open shutter bulb mode should be your shooting method anyways. Having IS is really nice to have and definitely helps if you plan to use this as a walk-around lens. Lastly, the STM feature is amazing. The AF is really very silent. Oh one last thing, this lens really really shines in taking video!

This is a great lens! Wide light and cheap. I recently upgraded to it's bigger brother the 10-22mm. This is definitely something every canon shooter should use. (Or the sigma art 18-35mm 1.8 which is my next lens purchase)

    Ultra-wide shoots awesome

One of he reasons I switched from Pentax to Canon was the wide variety of lenses available to the EOS family bodies - even knowing the glass was more expensive - BUT - this 10-18mm ultra-wide is very reasonably priced. The quality of construction and fit are superb. After a couple of weeks of owning this I am getting some amazing shots, both outdoor and interior. I primarily shoot architectural and landscape/nature. Also, you can't beat Best Buy's price matching policy.

This is a very good lens for indoor real estate photography I found it excellent at showing the feel of bathrooms and kitchens with an impressive ability to provide a overview in smaller places. Also it's good for pet photos giving nice closeups.

Purchased this lens for a photo shoot after comparing other lenses. The lens offers very clear crisp shots in low light areas. It also allows for close range action shots.
