I have used this lenses in many different situations and have noticed all of the photos taken using this lense are hazy. I have made sure it is smuge free and conducted a comparison with my canon 28-200 that confirms it is the lense.

I don't expect to use this lense everyday but it is still worth having. This lense allows you take shots that are just not possible without it. The build is solid, light weight compared to the all purpose lenses and very easy to use. I have only taken a few pics with it but have been very pleased with the results and have not experienced distortions or shadows. I am by far from an expert but I can see increasing the number of photos by 25% because of the capabilties this lense gives me.

I ended up returning this only because I went full frame instead. The lense is not terrible and does the job.

Superior, but expensive, ultra wide angle lens

For advanced Canon digital SLR camera owners of the Rebel XT, XTi, XSi, or the EOS 30D or 40D, with the money to spend, this is an ideal ultra wide angle lens. You'll want to use it for building interiors, groups of people, or sweeping landscapes. This 10mm-22mm lens has the 35mm equivalent of a 16mm to 35mm lens. In my opinion, it is far better than equivalent models from Sigma, Tokina, Tamron, and experts say it is better than any equivalent digital Nikon lens as well. I would have rated it 5 stars, except for these disadvantages: (1) It is priced as high as a Canon "L" (luxury) lens, but it doesn't have the L's dust resistance or build quality (although the glass itself is top quality). (2) This (and all EF-S lenses) will only work on small sensor (APS-C size) Canon DSLR cameras, so if you upgrade to the Canon EOS 5D or EOS 1DS body, you cannot use this lens. (3) It has a maximum diameter aperture of f/3.5 which is not really fast enough for all low light situations without increasing your ISO settings. And darkly lit room interiors are a tempting place to use such a great lens as this. So far, it is my favorite Canon lens for my Canon EOS 30D body.

Product is inferior to same product purchased several years back. No cords come with the new camera. Everything is sold a la carte. Such BS! Just more corporate greed!

    Nice Lens

This lens on my Canon 60D gives an equivalent of 16-35mm, which is exactly what I wanted to give impact to my close up shots, architecture and landscapes. It has very low distortion for such a wide lens, but is a little bit softer than I had hoped, and has a bit more CA at 10mm than I was expecting. The latter is easy to fix in post though. This is the first lens I have owned with USM, which is great compared to a noisy micro-drive. The lens has a bit of a plasticy feel, hence my rating on durability and value. Overall though I really like this lens and would buy again.

This lens provides high quality ultra-wide photos. I recommend this lens for nature images. This lens is durable and easy to use (even if you are an amateur photographer). This is an expensive lens, but it is a great investment for dedicated photographers. If you buy this lens, I recommend you buy a UV lens protector and a caring case.

This is a Great lens, I took it on a Trip to Yosemite this summer. The image quility is very good. It looks as good as my 20 year old 20-35 L. Plus with the 1.6 factor it works out to a 16mm. If you like working with very wide angle lenses I would recommend this one.

Bought this lens and really liked it from day one. It feels light and a little "cheaper" than my other Canon lenses, but it takes high quality images. I also have the 17-40 mm lens, but this one really has a place of its own.

I'm a fan of wide angle lens photography. I enjoy being able to capture a lot of visual information and it's also fun to take photos with unusual perspectives for enhanced visual interest. This is my favorite wide angle lens yet. It's impressive. The auto focus system is fast, quiet and performs very well. The lens looks great, has a high quality feel, and lets me take great photos.

    Great Wide-Angle Lens

Bought this lens before I went on vacation and it never left my camera body and still hasn't. Ive used it for time-lapses, light drawing, architecture & landscape photography, and even portraits (at the 22mm focal length, so there isn't any of that fish eye effect). The lens is made with canon L quality glass, and you see that in the shots. I was shooting on a t2i and the images still came out amazing. Although I will say there is a learning curve to using a WA lens, and I'm still learning how to perfect this one. But I would definitely recommend buying this lens. If you came here to the comments section for someone to convince you to buy this lens, Im telling you.. DO IT!

    Great Wide angle lens!

I have had this lens on a Eos 7D for a little over a month and the images it is producing are incredible. I read the many reviews of the distortion at the widest zoom, but it comes with the territory with this wide of an angle. I find the low light is very good even interiors. I have shot a good amount but haven't used it on a vacation yet for landscapes, so I am looking forward to that. If in the market for a wide angle and not wanting to spend the money on the L series, this is great. It is expensive, but well worth it.

By far, the best wide angle lens for Canon cameras

If you like to shoot panoramic views of beautiful landscapes, mountain ranges, or lakes, this lens work amazing! On the other hand, you can also use it to get very dramatic effects on other subjects, so they are a lot of fun to carry around. They are very lightweight and come with a lens hood too.

Awesome lens. Makes great wide angle shots. You can cram a ton into one picture with this lens. Just a bit expensive, and it would be nice if it had a bigger aperture for low light settings
