Customers are saying

Customers praise the product's fantastic image quality, great wide angle of view, and ease of use. They also appreciate its light weight and minimal distortion, particularly in the corners. However, a common concern among customers is that the aperture is not large enough.

Best ultra wide lens for crop

Purchased this lens for a trip to the Alps and it has not disappointed. Great for high light indoors or using a tripod also. Ultra wide gets you those amazing panorama shots. I use an adjustable ND filter and the only problem is the hood needs to be on before you attach the ND filter and also the canon lens cover will not fit on the filter but that is the same with all canon lenses and is really more something to consider when using this type of filter on any lens. Image quality is outstanding, I bought this over the sigma 10-20 and have no regrets at all.

Good wide angle for first time & wide angle scenic

Most of my pictures have been experimental as I get used to this lens. I was so glad to have it as I like to do a wide angle when outside. I like including as much of the scenic as possible. This lens will enable the user to bring in more variety of color if it is there. I have never had a wide angle lens before so I am surprise by some of my success. Example, a brown dirt road in foreground, an old building and green lawn midway, and a blue sky with white clouds in the distance. Everything is in focus, not just one subject. Flowers can be included in the foreground of a picture to include more color and interest. Taking a picture of a curve in a road adds width to the area around the turn to add a little mystery in the photo. Still am trying to find scenics and subjects which will make great pictures. Sometimes need to get closer than you think and other times one can back off to get the broader view.

It is a good wide angle lens but needs adequate lighting and shutter speed a little too slow for everyday motion pix. Overall happy because I bought it for landscapes using a tripod.

If you need a lens for wide angle shots and you have an older style camera, this lens is what you have been looking for. I am a realtor and needed a lens that can take wide angle shots of rooms and land. It gets the job done and the pictures look great.

Lens working well for landscapes, architecture, and places where I can't back up to get a shot. My husband took a picture of me sitting on the edge of a cliff from just a few feet away! Cost is a bit high but it's a quality lens and not that heavy either. Using on a Canon 70D.

I purchased this lens as a slight upgrade from the kit lens. I travel often and enjoy landscape photography. Not only is this lens good for photography but it’s also good in capturing a lot in tight and small spaces. I recently moved my daughter into her college dorm and this lens was perfect in capturing the small dorm decor. I was able to share a full pic with friends and family.

I've been thinking about getting this lens for some time but the price was pretty high, around $800.00. The price has come down to $599.00 so I decided to get it as I really wanted a 10mm lens to do some outside photography. I have the Canon 60D and it works great with that camera. Fast auto focus and I love the wide angle pictures you can take with this lens. I also purchased the Canon EW83E Lens Hood and it works perfect with this lens even zoomed all the way out. Check it out at a Best Buy store near you before you buy it.

With DSLRs slowly going the way of the dodo, there are some of us that are still holding on with pervious purchased equipment like lenses! I have been looking at this lens for some time and have finally gotten my hands on it after a sweet deal i could not refuse at my local Best Buy. The picture you can get out of this are nothing short of exceptional, great view angles all around even at 22mm!

I replaced the Canon 10-18 with this lens and it handles lens flares and ghosting so much better. It’s a great lens for the Canon crop sensor camera and the wide angle is perfect for landscape, architecture and real estate photography.

We bought this lens for our Canon Rebel T3i. We looked at some cheaper options, primarily the Sigma 10-20mm. Many reviews questioned the consistency of the Sigma lens. Some of them worked great, others had image quality issues. So we decided to pay the extra money and get the Canon. The lens is definitely very high quality and has provided some great pictures for us.

The wide-angle lens for Canon crop cameras

If you use a crop-sensor Canon camera and are serious about wide-angle shots, whether to "take it all in" or make other use of perspective that wide-angle gives you, this is the lens to have. The 35-mm equivalent of this lens is roughly 16-35mm, a great range. The lens is pricey, though, and Canon does not call it an L series lens although I think it is in a league with the 17-40 EF zoom, given the build and optics. Excellent!
