I’m a beginner at photography so I brought this as a budget friendly lens. For what I do works great . Works well with my new canon rebel T8i. Took some great shots of the moon. No photo-shop.

I purchased this lens to replace the lens that came with the T6i kit. It takes clear crisp photos (in proper lighting of course) you can also get a little bokeh if you distance yourself correctly. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the heaviness of the lens (durable build I must say) and also it's pretty noisey and slower at auto focusing. Quick review, but I hope this helps.

This is used mainly for photographing items for online selling and is perfect! Jewelry is one of the most difficult items to photograph and this makes it easy. It also is perfect for landscape, candid and portraits. The autofocus is quick and the stabilization make it the go to lens.

I purchased mine brand new in the box. PROs: 1. Affordable - can't beat the price for what it does. 2. Flexible - great for family photos, portraits, wildlife/nature, sports... 3. Accurate - whether taking a shot at 55mm or 250mm, the clarity and sharpness is the same (excellent)! 4. Weight - since it's mostly plastic, it's very light and great to take with you on a hike. CONs: 1. Quality - the only feature I do not like about this lens is the mounting ring, which is plastic! It should be metal, and it wouldn't add much to the expense of this otherwise, great lens. 2. The stabilizer works just "OK" - not great, but not bad either. I never use it. 3. The manual ring is a nice size, but it's sticky - not as smooth as I would expect from Canon.

Great supplement to the normal lens

I wanted a reasonable telephoto lens to supplement the normal lens that was supplied with the Canon EOS T5i. This one links easily to the auto focus function on the camera. Easy to zoom, enables me to do distance shots of the surfers on the waves as well as enlarged "close ups" (really from far away - a sort of imitation macro) that are sharp and clear with ability to do my depth of field arsy stuff with a sharp large flower in a soft background. This lens will let me do all sorts of creative shots. I'm glad I bought it. Expensive but well worth the cost.

I'm just an amateur and beginner in nature/wildlife photography. I recently bought the Canon Rebel T7 bundle that came with the Canon 75-300mm lens, and wanted to upgrade to a better lens. The 55-250mm is much better in my opinion. My pictures look sharper, less grainy, and blurry. The built-in stability will really help with little shakes. It's also affordable and won't break the bank. I would definitely purchase again.

Highly recommend this for anybody using a non full frame camera. This actually produces higher image quality on our sensors than the $4000 options. I actually have 2 just because i was able to save so much money so one can be used for harsher conditions

There isn't much to say about Canon's updated 55-250. The step motor is super quiet. I mean you can't hear a thing which is great for shooting video. The range is spectacular and it's sharp at all focal lengths. Shooting outdoors is a no brainer with this glass. It's great for nature and landscapes. Upgrade to this lens over the previous model, it has a sharper glass and the step motor is worth the upgrade.

The lens works great, the images are good. I'm more comfortable with manual focus and the manual focus feature on this lens is clumsy and slow. Even in manual mode it tries to focus for you. Sometimes that's helpful if it gets it at least close. It doesn't focus quickly and won't focus at all if the camera is not turned on (maybe that's okay). If you don''t use manual focus a lot it's a great lens. The lens is a really good value for what you get.

This is my first Canon DSLR telephoto lens, and I couldn't be more pleased. The images are very sharp, it is light weight, easy to use, and fast in focusing. I recommend you get a telephoto with Image Stabilization, (IS), it makes a big difference. A great lens for people who enjoy taking photographs.
