    You really can't get better than this lense with a 1.4 extender for wildlife and travel photos.

    Bought lens based on reviews that sharp images were possible handheld but I got sharper images by using my standard zoom and then cropping. I returned the lens, much too heavy for anything but tripod use.

    The lens really gets me up close to deer and a great job with flying birds. It is heavy, but very durable. I could almost use it to pound in tent spikes and it would still work. I would rather see it is a camo color that white, or at least have the options of white, black or camo.
