This is the sharpest lens in my collection (>20). Historically I've went with low to mid-level lenses to save a few bucks (3rd party lenses, lower quality Canon lenses) but have never been blown away by their sharpness. But the sharpness of this lens jumps out at you. It focuses quickly and stays locked on to moving subjects like birds in flight. If I had purchased this lens 10 years ago, I would have saved money trying to find the perfect lens. This is it!

I’m a beginner and found this lens to be very user friendly. My action shots were great and my close up shots were beautiful! I highly recommend this lens for action shots.

The quality of this lens is on point. I have only had it for a short time but it has produced amazing photos.

Lens is ideal for traveling for its compact size and weight. Very sharp at f8-f11. I like the different image stabilization settings. Lock ring works good and stays tight.

What I like about it is the long range zoom aside from being a sharp lens. Although it doesn't replaces my Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS USM II. It is sharp from 100mm all the way to 400mm. But in a dim environmrnt, that is when this lens began to slow down. But the IS is a great help to minimize the blurry pictures. I find the IS very effective in all situations and it helps during low light shooting. I wish they should have made this thing with a "constant aperture." But it is an L lens, a very reliable one! Comparing to the Canon 200-400 f4, this is the way to go if you don't want the extra weight and also save a huge amount of money

My wife loves this lens. We have a hill behind our house and she loves zooming in on wildlife and taking great photos.

This Lense is excellent for shooting Sports & Wildlife. I have the previous one that zooms by push & pull. This lense twists left & right for focusing & it is very fast Focusing. You will not be dissappointed purchasing this one.

This lens is superb. The pictures are clear and bright with crisp results. This is our 10th or 12th Canon lens and it is well worth the cost.

This lens is remarkably light for one so long. I recently took it to an MLB game and the pictures are incredible. Highly recommend to any Canon DSLR owner!

I love this len, it allows me zoom 400mm and able to take beautiful pictures at 3 feet. It like a macro len, and the auto focus was sharp.

Had the first generation version of this lens and it was great. This one continues and improves on that greatness.
