This is my only L lens and I can see why they are pricey. The colors are vibrant, pictures sharp, and macros, though challenging, beautiful.

A bit pricy but worth it, very nice easy to use great strong lens.

I purchased this lens for the Canon Rebel T1I camera and have been very satisfied with the excellent quality of pictures it takes. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

Haven't used the lens a lot yet but my first pics using a T1i were very impreesive. Took a picture of a spider and you can see all its spikes and details. Flower colors also turned out very nice. For portrait, it is hard to get the entire subject unless you stay at a distance. So it wont be a good lens for quick shots. Overall if you are looking for close up shots, this is a great lens to own.

This lens its vey sharp. And when i mean its sharp, i mean it. The "IS" makes a good upgrade for the Canon macro 100mm USM, and its worth every penny. Its a great lens for portrair photos too. Great for macro, portraits in low light with nice IS. Its just simply amazing.

This my first macro lens and my first L series lens. I love it. Once I got used to the nuances of extreme close ups, I have been able to take some nice macro shots. For taking normal or non macro shots the image quality is equally amazing, however you are limited to the 100 mm focal length. This is the lens that has been on my camera since it was delivered. It is well worth the price tag.

I read a few of these reviews that said "Great for portraits and weddings". Please tell me how you would shoot a wedding with this lens. Like I said .... "Great for closeups". Ultrasonic very quiet, the IS is always a plus for sure. I will probably keep the lens, but the narrow range makes the lens limited in what it can do. Sure wish they would keep a better selection of lens in the stores (no need to carry the high-end lenses, just a good cross-section), so you could handle and see it before you make the purchase. But the image quality is fantastic, no doubt about it. *How are you supposed to rate the "Durability" this soon? Need to see how it stands up to the test of time to give accurate review.

This lens is ridiculously powerful and takes EXCELLENT photos both close up and far away. The first 15 photos I took through this lens had me consumed. Canon hit about every mark with this one.

This lens is incredible. I love taking up close photos and you can really get a great crisp photo with this lens. I was even able to take amazing pics of my family from a far. The zoom is great!

With much pleasure I find a different perspective of the world around me
